Picture yourself in a holiday at faraway place but still feel at home. That is kind of feeling when we stayed at Ruma Kaca at Simanindo, Samosir. An attractive old heritage house well maintained, nicely decorated, sufficiently furnished by the kind and attentive owner, Ibu Tiolina. Gardens surrounding the house, spacious green yard extended right to the lake, coffee shop, library, art museum, traditional house complex, ancestral graveyards, the home has everything. It is our holiday home. We stayed on 29-30 January 2025 and wished to stay longer. Experience it yourself.

Clean hotel with great staff and good service. Tv in the room is great for AirPlay. The price is too high for what you get ( comfort plus room ). They advertise with high speed internet but it’s very slow. The bed is not really comfortable, room and the shower are too small and the breakfast is ok but we expected more for the price we paid.
My review is based on my good experiences at Tabo Cottages, next to Zoe’s Paradise Hotel. We also stayed at Tabo Cottages in Tuk Tuk and got a room 2 times bigger with much better breakfast for a price 30% less then at Zoe’s Paradise.

Jo Jo and Frans were very hospitable and welcoming. Every day they offered to drive us to see the sites, go to market or whatever we wished. They did not charge for picking us up at the ferry or taking us back at the end of our stay. The situation on the edge of the lake was beautiful and we swam every day. The choice for breakfast was large and prepared by Jo Jo individually. The staff were very helpful and smiling. It had a really friendly family atmosphere...

The surroundings. The landscape and garden are beautifully done. I love the gorga style roofs above our rooms. Breakfast has less offerings than hotels I had been to but was delicious.

The location wise im satisfied. But the conditions was not well maintained and creepy. The big hotel look haunted. The receptionist still using the manual log and can’t find the booking. No wonder it’s so cheap.
