IrelandOur host was friendly and warm on our arrival. She has gone over and above to help us settle in and let us feel loved and welcome. The rooms are spacious with lovely big windows to enjoy the countryside and garden. The property has a lovely view of the rolling hills and mountains. Peace and Tranquility is medicine for the tired and weary soul and body. It is close to Sligo and Strandhill beach if you fancy a walk on the beach or go for a swim or maybe some surfing. Then there is the lovely Glencar Waterfall with a coffee shop if you fancy a cup of coffee or a bite to eat after the walk to the waterfall. i will highly recommend Peace and Tranquility when visiting Sligo.

United StatesBeautiful castle that we were welcome to explore. This stay was an excursion in itself - providing much entertainment as we walked around (inside and outside) noticing all of the neat things. Many different sitting rooms to hang out in. Very clean and beautiful bedrooms. We felt like princesses while being served a delicious breakfast. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the Irish Wolfhound puppy was adorable.

FranceIt’s a very clean hotel and I had a nice spacious king room. It’s a big place, so not exuding charm, but it’s a practical stop coming down from Donegal. There are some beautiful spots around Benbulbin worth exploring. I would recommend this place because the facilities are well maintained and the bar/restaurant on site are decent. The trad music in the bar was a nice touch.

United StatesEverything was lovely--the room, the host, and the location. Breakfast was delicious every morning, and Michael was super helpful in giving us food recommendations. Plus, Michael's dog, Juno, was a delight to play with and incredibly friendly. I'd travel to Sligo just to stay here again.

Bally mote is a small town with a big heart; close to Sligo and many other visitor attractions. It is an ideal base for those taking part in the Annual Sligo Camino which is a one day trek of 36 kms run by the Coolaney Community. This takes places every year on the first Saturday in July. The Coach House Hotel in the centre of the town has very good food; I have stayed there several times. Nearby is the Eagles Flying Centre which houses a number of Birds of Prey who are the main attraction .Well worth a visit if you like to spread your wings with the real thing!Guest review byRobinIreland - Review score

It is a good place to stay if you want to visit Sligo Town...
It is a good place to stay if you want to visit Sligo Town but you find that all of the accommodation in Sligo Town is either fully booked or too expensive. You most definitely need a car though. By car, Sligo Town is approx 25 minutes away, which I think is fine, considering you can find accommodation in Ballymote for about half the price of a budget-priced guesthouse in Sligo Town. There is a train station in Ballymote, which is only two stops away from Sligo Town (about 25 minutes). But based on our experience, the train seemed to be extremely unreliable, being delayed by about two and a half hours (we were told) on one of the days (we didn't need to catch it that day though, my son just wanted to see it arrive at the station). And then it was delayed by 40 minutes the very next day (when we were actually using it). Lovely quiet little town but hard to judge during a pandemic. There are shops and restaurants but most were still closed. We were attending the White Hag event at the brewery so we ate and drank there. You can walk almost anywhere in Ballymote, weather permitting.Guest review byDanielIreland - Review score

i would highly recommend the coach house hotel as the venue is very comforting and relaxing in an ideal location for exploring co.sligo. the staff are very welcoming and provided me with invaluable information regarding local tourist attractions. all of the meals were very tasty and were great value for money.Guest review bybrendanUnited Kingdom

The village of ballymote 10-15 away, where there are a few shops.
