We specifically went to Banagher as we were going to Jj Houghs Singing Pub. We had an amazing time. There are good options for food - restaurant/bar and other takeaways. The town was clean. We didn’t explore much other than Houghs and the Marina but we had a great time and will definitely be back.

We had a lovely stay at Keerun Hill.
We had a lovely stay at Keerun Hill. Geraldine was so welcoming.. an exceptional host. The rooms were lovely, great choice of breakfast and comfy beds. Great base for exploring. We visited Meelick weir walkway, Birr Castle and Clonmacnoise but there is lots more to do, we only had the weekend to explore. Flynns in Banagher was great for food with very good service on a Friday. Definitely recommend a visit.

Banagher itself is reasonably interesting (on the Shannon, its association with George Petrie 1790-1866) but the key is its proximity to some of the major wonders of Co. Offaly.
Very pleasant meal at Flynn's Bar and Restaurant: good choice and excellent service.

We were not there long enough to be judgemental.
We were not there long enough to be judgemental.
However we walked down to Houghs to bring in the New Year. That was an enjoyable experience ( Even if we felt ancient. While walking to and from that location we thought that the street was very littered. We would like to visit Banagher and stay again in Charlotte 's Way in better weather.

The actual location is 7 miles from Banagher and in a different county; it would be more helpful to say it is at Eyrecourt; the Townland is named on the corresponding 1/50,000 map.
Easy driving distance from Clonmacnois, Birr, Clonfert, Portumna, all important tourist sites.
At the time we booked in mid September, there were no other on-line b&b vacancies at or near these sites.
We ate food purchased at Banagher though there is also a late opening store at Eyrecourt.

Very friendly and helpful host. Room was lovely and bed was comfortable
The pub across the street, is a friendly place, but normally doesn't serve food, so check out Banagher or Shannon Bridge.
Really delicious breakfast and would stay here again
The location of the apartment was fabulous. It was right in the centre of Banagher town. Everything was within walking distance. Everybody was lovley we met. Shaun was a great host, so helpful, which was great. We will stay again 😃
We felt very welcomed by the owners into their beautiful home. The rooms were large and comfortable and the breakfast was absolutely delicious! You wouldn't get this experience in a hotel.
