Very happy I booked here. Location is great, on the Main Street, close to restaurants, shops, pubs. Parking available right outside the door. My room was spotless, looks new. Bright decor, plenty of light. The ensuite bathroom was spacious with a good shower. I wouldn't hesitate booking 'James Lyons' The Old Main Street, again.

Unbelievable property it’s a time warp to a different era.

Attractive town but limited facilities - no obvious public toilets and many of the store's ones were 'out of order', where available good - necessary if you have children or are getting on a bit. Beautiful park, fun all day pub eatery with a train inside, There is also a train service but not many trains - station facilities only available when a train was due. Diet very rich in meat.

If you do not drive Castlerea is easily accessible by train but local transport is challenging. We recommend Keene taxis. Best restaurants….Hesters and the Old Stone House….the center of Castlerea is about an easy 15 minute walk….

We used the hotel as a base for the suck valley way. The location worked out really well, it's right by many walks and the train station is just around the corner. We ended up eating in the hotel every evening and it was fantastic. The room we had was lovely, very large and recently invested in so very comfortable! The staff were amazing, always so helpful - both in the bar and the breakfast staff. Far exceeded expectations!
nice classic hotel, staff were really friendly, breakfast was amazing. The owner recommended a walk to me nearby, and it was quite possibly one of the best short walks I’ve ever done with so much to see and ever changing scenery, only took just over an hour in total!
The room was spacious bright and clean, the bar food was good and the staff friendly. The hotel while somewhat dated is traditional and well located on the main street. There is lots of parking just oposite the hotel.
What a great hotel....soo friendly and welcoming...atmosphere was very good. Breakfast was lovely....couldn't knock anything about the hotel...I will be back.
