Donegal is a wonderful town in Ireland, full of kind people of lot of calming nature. A good place to go for long walks or to be connected to other northern areas of the country. The town is a real gem - small, attractive and with a lovely feel to it. Everything is within walking distance which is a great bonus. Parking is pay and display everywhere around the town but cheap and free between 6pm and 9am, so not a real issue. It has a blend of unique shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. The castle is beautiful and an interesting place to visit. There's also a town walking trail along the bank of the river. Donegal was a very serene environment for us, we totally enjoyed being there. Away from the hustling of city life. We walked everywhere to pick up groceries and even to the Donegal castle just a few blocks away from our accommodation We had a cruise on the Donegal bay boat, and we also visited Fanad head lighthouse. We used the pool, steam room, jacuzzi and gym and they were excellent. Breakfast had plenty of choice and food was hot and fresh. We also had dinner one of the nights in chapter twenty and food was lovely. Staff were also very friendly in all areas of the hotel from front desk, cleaners, leisure centre, restaurant staff and breakfast staff. 10 min walk to donegal town ...
