Everything was perfect apart from the heat in the rooms, it was extremely warm and uncomfortable and I found it very very difficult to sleep.
Situated in Dundalk, Ballymascanlon Hotel and Golf Resort is set within 130 acres of parkland.

Found 1st interaction upon arrival at reception below par. Stood for 10mins while one gentleman booked in another couple.his colleague sat beside him & she did not acknowledge our presence. Dinner at terrace bar was disaster, ordered and sat for 45mins waiting. We were then approached by staff member with 3 single scoops of sorbet and told the food was held up by another 10-15mins. Delay due to large table bookings & a few other reasons. That does not excuse in my opinion. In fairness food was delivered to our room, it was 15-20mins after we left the bar but staff were very apologetic at that point and no charge. Day we were leaving, the room was called at 12:15 to remind us that checkout was at 12pm. Fair enough, we were leaving room at time. However, when we got to reception to checkout, 2 managers & receptionist present. of the 3, no one acknowledged the fact we were paying guests leaving the hotel or said thank you or asked how our stay was. These interactions are the important part of the experience for hotel guests and sets the tone for the stay. Good hotel, most staff very pleasant but at vital aspects did let itself down. Once is enough for me.
Escape to The Carrickdale for comfort and indulgence on the Cooley Peninsula. It has a leisure centre, a fitness centre and the therapeutic Serenity Spa.
The Hotel Imperial is in Dundalk town centre, close to all the major attractions and shops, bars and restaurants. It has free parking, modern bars and coffee shop.
The Gateway Hotel Dundalk, where extraordinary experiences and unmatched service await you.

The staff at reception were very welcoming. The room was clean, spacious and relaxing. Breakfast was superb. Beautiful gardens outside the restaurant area. The restaurant was beautifully laid out and staff considerate and well mannered. The top to bottom painting of the king and his wolfhound was magnificent..My comments for improvement and I'm hard pushed to find any would be that I would have liked to have seen more information on the painting & artist as it makes the building stand out and is distinguishable, I didn't see any info on what to do or attractions from other businesses and no info on the gym etc just that there was one there...all in all I would recommend staying here.

Dundalk in County Louth, the wee county, provided an incredible outpouring of creativity to celebrate Brigid1500. The Northern Lights Light Show in Market Square, the murals and storefronts painted with signs of Spring and Brigid, the cultural production at An Tain Theatre and the County Museum.
We were there for 4 days and we made the Proper Cafe "our cafe". The staff were very welcoming and remembered us and the food was great!
We also took a bus to Carlingford and enjoyed a short hike and great views of Carlingford Lough. Also, the home of Thomas Darcy McGee, and Father of Canadian Confederation.

At St.
At St. Patrics Day there were no free hotel in good price in Dublin. This choice for accomodation was the best choice, only 1 hour from Dublin by train, and found a very nice pansion with polite people.

The Imperial Hotel is a lovely comfortable hotel with very friendly helpful staff. The location of the hotel is very central and the town centre and shopping are just a short stroll from the door. My husband enjoyed a very pleasant evening at the races in Ireland's only all weather racecourse, just a short Taxi ride away, while I browsed and shopped in the nearby Shopping Centre. We dined in the hotel, where the food was excellent. We had a lovely restful two day break, and we plan to return there in the future.

People were very friendly, a lot of greetings while out walking the street on a wet morning, likewise staff in shops all very welcoming, the town could do more to promote it's history and some beautiful surroundings within close proximity, unfortunately there are a lot of derelict or dilapidated buildings around the town. The town also could do with a better range of dining experiences The Spotted Dog was excellent but a few more restaurants at that end of the market would be very welcome.

Dundalk has lots of potential.
Dundalk has lots of potential. Nicely laid out town and looking very well Unfortunately the people of Dundalk don't know the meaning of good customer service, very cold and unwelcoming. We didn't meet a single friendly face in the bars or resteraunts, customer service was NIL!

We stayed at the Carrickdale Hotel.
We stayed at the Carrickdale Hotel. We drove to Newry and did some shopping. Then we went to stunning Carlingford for lunch and more shopping! Back to Blackrock in Dundalk for fish and chips from Roma on the promenade and ice cream at storm in a teacup. Dundalk has beautiful scenic drives and greenway walks and we loved exploring around it.

Beautiful spacious, well equipped and comfortable apartments. We rented a 2 bed and a 3 bed for a family gathering.
They were so close to the hotel for golf and on the right road out to Carlingford.
Bedroom sizes were great and beds were so comfortable.
Kitchen and living area had everything we needed.
Outside was so safe as it had electric gates. Being dog friendly was such a bonus as our pups are part of our family.
Sharon was an amazing host and given us all the information needed. We would definitely come back again!
Con was very welcoming. The area was lovely including the people in the town. Location was only a few minutes drive from Dundalk town and there was a local shop 2 minutes from the apartment. The apartment was so clean and had everything we needed - cereals, milk, pots, microwave, linen, towels etc. Smart TV was a great bonus. Overall a great stay and a great host. Would definitely stay again if in the area.
Carrickdale Hotel and Spa is a beautiful hotel. The gardens are stunning and the room was clean, spacious and comfortable. My friend and I got a massage at the Serenity Spa which was so relaxing. We also enjoyed two meals at the Secret Garden restaurant. I would highly recommend this hotel and spa to others.
The hotel was amazing, warm & welcoming. The staff were so friendly & helpful in all departments, reception, resturant ,bar & spa area. Will definetly be back with friends & family.
