Location in town within half hour drive of the airport. Clean room and beautiful pool and hot tubs available, but did not use on most recent visit. Liked the florentine poached eggs for breakfast! Hotel has pub which is nice to end a day.

Margaret, our host, was welcoming. Once she showed us around, she came back with freshly made breakfast treats! The lodgings are stand alone and it was very quiet. Sheep next door made for nice neighbors. Highly recommend!!

Accomodation was perfectly located for the retreat me and my sisters had. It was private. It had all the facilities needed. We had a lovely walk by the country road and also discovered a river.
We did not meet staff but was we had prompt responses to messages.
We loved it so much we would have to visit again.

This place is soooooo beautiful on the inside. The host was lovely and the views are great. This is a great central location for Burren activities, however it is very rural at the same time. The pub was warm and cozy beneath. The beds are very comfortable and the room was HUGE.

Large 2 bedroom lodging. It was great to spread out after staying in small one bedroom B&Bs. Having a kitchen and sitting room to relax in was great. And don't forget a washer and dryer! Fantastic!
Great host. Enjoyed our stay. Very clean and comfortable accommodation with nice breakfast. Located across the road from monastic ruins. Great location. Host was friendly and helpful. Would have loved to stay longer and explore the countryside in this area.

Gort is a quiet country town.
Gort is a quiet country town. I love the old hardware store which still has a bar at the back. Visit ‘The Field’ for a gorgeous meal. It’s very ‘old time’ Ireland - and I’m Irish :) It’s an affordable location to your around the Burren, Kinvara, Ballyvaughan, Poulnabrone Dolmen etc. Only 30 minute drive from Galway.

I live near Gort and shop there every week so it was hardly an expedition. I'd say Gort isn't the most fascinating town in Ireland but it could be an interesting stop if you are interested in Yeats, it's very near Coole Park and also only a short drive to the Thoor Ballylee,

Gort is centrally located to many wonderful landmarks, the Gregory/Yeats heritage trail (Thoor Ballylee Tower, Kiltartan Musem, Coole Park), Cliffs of Moher, The Burren, Kinvara (a quaint village on the bay) and a great walk on Traught Beach. The town seemed small enough and distanced well from Galway to feel safe from excessive Covid-19 numbers 😊.

Lavally House is a great choice of location to overnight on a long road trip. It has gated parking and very close to main street in Gort.
The bedrooms are ensuite, beautifully furnished and extremely comfortable. Hosts Michael and Adrian have great taste in interior design.
I highly recommend this property.
I loved it so much that I came back and stayed again on my return road trip.
The property was lovely and spacious and our room was very clean, as was the bed, which also happened to be very comfortable. Added to this, the kitchen had everything we needed, and the hosts were incredibly helpful and friendly. Another plus is that the property is located slap bang in the centre of Gort. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this place to anyone.
Everything was wonderful. Really spacious and comfortable twin room. Kitchen and lounge facilities too. Bread, butter, coffee, tea, milk etc provided towards breakfasts. Nothing was too much trouble from the hosts. Lovely spot in the countryside outside Gort. Quiet and good wifi.
Josephine was a great host. The surroundings, breakfast and room were excellent. Close proximity to lovely little villages such as Gort and Kinvara, and easy access to Galway and Shannon airport. Highly recommend the stay.
