Wonderful caring staff & wholesome food reasonably priced in Ireland's over priced hospitality industry. Property could do with an exterior paint job & an issue with ventilation in sleeping quarters but I'm confident this little gem will become the landmark of North Kerry

From the outside the Magpie Bar has an attractive traditional appearance which is carried through into the main bar which is quirky and interesting. The rooms that we were allocated were actually in another building but were a good size, warm and reasonably comfortable.

Lovely stay with Jack ! He is an amazing host, really helpful and it was so nice to talk with him about Ireland. The breakfast served in the morning is delicious.

The host was wonderful. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend
I love the serenity and pastoral beauty of the place.
I love the serenity and pastoral beauty of the place. My daily swims in the Shannon at high tide were wonderfully restorative. We were lucky to be here for both the National Clare vs Cork Hurling Championship and be part of the pulsating excitement at Casey's Pub where it was televised when Clare won! Same with the Armagh vs Galway Irish Football National Championship. My father was from Armagh, so you can figure who I was rooting for!
Labasheeda, now a destination town on the Shannon Estuary Way tour, is very easy to get to from Ennis. We love the ease of flying into Shannon airport, bus to Ennis and then a bus to Labasheeda.

Picturesque small village with cafe, pub and shop (only open in the morning). Lovely estuary views from the Quay. Not much to do in the village, or even at nearby towns like Kilrush, but a nice spot for peace and quiet, and a good base for those willing to day trip further afield.
