It‘s a tricky thing to tell. At Bellinter it seems like „not everything adds up“. The house, the garden, the spa, the restaurant, the rooms, the furniture, the ambiance - it‘s all just lovely and beautiful.. There‘s something particular and extravagant to it, distinguished really. Congratulations! The food was great, super delicious. I want to emphasize that all staff at the restaurant and in the guests rooms has been considerate and polite. But at the same time the younger receptionists act differently. They don‘t really seem to like their work. I perceived them as snappy towards guests and I personally didn‘t feel well. To me they don‘t really fit the ambitious concept of Bellinter House. Same with some guests, who showed up in beach shorts & shirts in the restaurant. Simply a mismatch in such a beautiful house. Finally: the flies. No idea how to get rid of them inside, but yes, unfortunately they too clouded the overall impression. What I want to express here: I truly loved what Bellinter offers, its beauty in nature, the old building and new colourful interieur, the food, the breakfast, the accomodations and amenities. I loved the enchanting impression that comes along with all of it, but what does Bellinter want to be eventually? Extravagant or average? I concede, I may be the only guest thinking about it.

We want to Trim, a lovely little city. People were super friendly and proud to show off the sites and share stories. We regret leaving for Dublin which was just another big city to us.
Easy parking
The folks at the tourism office and castle entrance were funny and friendly

I only stayed one night or less, actually (from 6 pm to 3 am the next day), so I cannot review Navan, but I really liked the pub and live music I found. It was the pub with the cat called Henry, but don't ask me about the pub's real name or the address. Somewhere in the centre.

I really enjoyed the trip and Tours to trim a castle in a little town of Trim!
Also, the trip to Bru na Boone to the buried tombs, is definitely a worthwhile visit. Make sure you buy your ticket in advance and make sure you sign up to see both Newgrange and Knowth

Room was extremely dark, even with lights on. Central light in room not working.
Not great for getting ready to leave for a sons wedding in another location. Son who was the groom was in room next door and lighting very poor also. Pulled back all curtains but then others outside could see in.

So much to do in the area.
So much to do in the area. I loved the scenic drives and historic buildings. Shame you have to book online for some things. Not everyone has this facility. Also some places have stopped taking cash and a lot of people still want to pay cash for things.

The town is quite small and compact and has a selection of shops, bars and restaurants. When we were there it was packed with young kids and youths (late afternoon/early evening). Not sure if this is a regular thing. You can get a direct bus from Dublin

We were only using the hotel as a place to stay in Navan for the night. The reception staff were friendly on arrival and were helpful in organising us a taxi top go to our event in the town. The entrance to the hotel is well kept. We didn't spend anytime in the bar but it looked nice from a far.
The power from the shower was fantastic.
The location was great for visiting bru na Boine and Trim Castle. We also enjoyed the town of Navan. Room was very spacious, very clean and overall great! Having the restaurant made things very easy. We enjoyed two days of breakfast and one dinner. All very good. All the staff was wonderful. Would totally recommend!!!!
