The added little extras like leaving Prosecco and cupcakes for us to arrive to was lovely, bottled water in the fridge helped with the hangovers too!

Escape to The Carrickdale for comfort and indulgence on the Cooley Peninsula. It has a leisure centre, a fitness centre and the therapeutic Serenity Spa.

We got a great family room , staff were very helpful. A water station is on the end of our corridor. Lovely hotel, we had a very enjoyable family break.

Beautiful area full of national folklore, scenic beauty, quiet friendly people and situated perfectly for a quiet time or for commuting to larger centres. It is within 2 minutes of the greenway that will safely allow you to walk or cycle in either direction towards Newry or Carlingford. Nearby trek in woods and mountains or can take in local castle and leprechauns in Carlingford along with plenty of eateries and hospitality. Newry is well situated within 10 minutes drive for shopping and bigger city options. There is a shale seashore running along the greenway with plenty of wildlife and seabirds to be seen. Great for evening rambles.

A little village right on Carlingford Lough with views across to the mountains and down the firth. Very well-equipped petrol station shop and a number of other stores plus a post office. Only 5or so miles from Carlingford and the same to Newry over the border, and mountain roads going up Slieve Foy from the village. A convenient well-located little town.

Everything was beautifully prepared for us, plus an unexpected and very generous welcome pack. Also some helpful supplies such as salt and pepper, oil etc The surrounding area is beautiful with many diverse activities jaunts possible. Including a coastal walk to Carlingford. I had not noticed when booking that there was no wifi, but in the end that turned out to a good (enforced) break from the iPad...! However others might feel bereft, especially if staying for longer.... Therefore it might be a good precaution to point out 'No wifi' on the accommodation info. We were 4 adults, 2 elderly, and felt a bit of pressure at times with there being only one toilet, which was in the bath/shower room. This could be more of a problem if there were 6 adults who are not close family...? But, for us, a wonderful holiday stay - thank you
