Daphne was an excellent host. She made us feel welcome and comfortable right away. Our room was spacious, well-appointed and beautifully decorated. We had a delicious breakfast the next morning in the cozy breakfast room, ordered from a list of about 8 options the night before. We would highly recommend the Stirabout Lane B&B for your Rathdrum or Wicklow stay.

The reason for my visit was to do some family research and its the only reason we chose to stay there but we were presently suprised. Pleanty of ammenities in the village, a large supermarket, doctors, three bars, a couple of restraunts and places for food with two takeaways also, all on the main street. Rathdrum is in a good place to visit local attractions, Wicklow Jail, Glendalough, Avondale forest and others. Great place for walking or cycling, handy for the Wicklow mountains

We liked the fact that the Rathdrum was situated in a nice quiet even remote area of Wicklow but yet not far from Wicklow town. The hosts were nice, very helpful and the breakfast was ample. I cannot comment on the main house we were only in the breakfast room as we were in the log cabin at the rear. I would recommend the Rathdrum for a nice quiet stay in the countryside.

Lovely village community, but nothing in the village to do.
Lovely village community, but nothing in the village to do. It's an area where you need your own transport to get around efficiently. Also traffic in village chaotic and parking in the village is inadequate. Nevertheless it is still a nice area to stay in and visit. We do hope to go back in the near future.

From the minute we arrived at the gate to the property, Francis appeared with her smiling face and welcomed us to Meadowbrook. It was lovely to get such a personal welcome while following all social distance guidelines..Francis had thought of everything to make the stay as comfortable as possible. The personalized welcome note and chocolates were a lovely surprise. The property is in a perfect location for exploring the wonderful Wicklow scenery and Francis was very helpful with directions .The homemade treats delivered to the doorstep were a big treat, especially after a long day sightseeing. The families 2 dogs are friendly and very quiet and add to the homely atmosphere of the property.I hope to return to Meadowbrook and stay a little longer next time..
If there were awards for Hostess 's Francis would win First Prize for her hospitality and property.

The hospitality and friendliness of all the staff was exceptional. The food was excellent and enjoyed the white pudding at breakfast time. They were very helpful with our local enquiries about the area and the history of the district. We loved it and was sad when we had to leave. We would have liked to stay longer but reluctantly had to leave. Highly recommend this accommodation at Jacobs Well Hotel in Rathdrum in County Wicklow.
Tom was friendly and helpful on our arrival, giving us a quick tour of the apartment. The location was good with lots to do in the local area and a good sized shop located just down the road in Rathdrum. It was an excellent base to climb Lugnaquilla (the highest peak in the Wicklow mountains).
Gorgeous boutique hotel. Clean and stylish room. Friendly landlady who made sure we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Great base for visiting some lovely countryside. Located in a small town with several nice pubs and restaurants. Easy parking nearby. Would definitely stay here again!
Great friendly welcome. Beautiful cosy house in a quiet location. Excellent freshly cooked breakfast with great choice. Located 2 km from Rathdrum with a footpath all the way.
