Everything was spotlessly clean, rooms were family size. Food portions were very generous and food was very good.

The room, the bathroom, everything was finished to the highest standards. The bed was very comfortable which is always a plus in my eyes. The blinds are electric so you just need to push a button to bring them down and up. The window opens a fraction for some air. The shower was really good, with a double head.Steph was in touch to see if I needed anything and she contacted to say there was some music next door which should finish soon, it wasn't an issue for me but if you had kids you may want to request a room on the other side. There's a fridge under the counter which is a major bonus, I brought overnight oats with me and got milk as I don't like the uht milk.
Situated just 42 km from Kilkenny Castle, The Ranch Cabin features accommodation in Rathdowney with access to an open-air bath, a garden, as well as private check-in and check-out.

Host was quick to respond . Check in was made very easy for us. Host was very helpful. Appreciated all of the small touches. The host really thought of everything- coffee/ tea/ breakfast options/ condiments and even wine. The beds were extremely comfortable and the house was spotless also. Very close to the town of Birr. We were within walking distance to the centre. Will definitely stay again and would highly recommend. Good value for money too.

What really made my stay so good was the fact that the Guest House also had a restaurant . The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly and accommodating . I also was very pleased that Mark, the owner, was able to provide a packed lunch and filled my flask with coffee ! Breakfast at hotels can be hit or miss but here the breakfast, an Irish fry, was obviously just cooked to order and had not been lying around drying out !
I liked Roscrea and I did not find anything negative.
I liked Roscrea and I did not find anything negative. Rackett Hall was an ideal location and great value to visit Birr Castle and heritage sights in surrounding towns.
The food in Rackett hall was excellent and we did not find it necessary to eat elsewhere. There are several golf courses near at hand and Roscrea is a very welcoming club.

Lovely little town.
Lovely little town. Seemed very bustling in the business area, and St. Cronan's Catholic Church was beautiful! Also did some hiking at Orange Hill. Our only disappointment was the Roscrea Heritage Center, which was closed for renovation, and we had hoped to get help there with ancestor information. Despite being closed, the director and assistant were very friendly and helpful and gave us some great Roscrea history. Enjoyed our visit to Leap Castle, too.

Fantastic breakfast. We enjoyed an amazing assortment of fresh fruit and cereals before a lovely cooked breakfast. We were delighted to happen across this excellent B&B as the local hotel had no availability. However, we would not hesitate in making this our first choice going forward if we were to stay in the area again. Hosts were really welcoming and went the extra mile for us. The weather was very cold but the room was lovely and warm and the bed really comfortable.
Beautifully decorated cottage, generously equipped. Great location close to Roscrea. Homely and interesting, Lovely Woodburning stove. Also a wood pellet stove for central heating. Everything in the cottage - Bedlinen, furniture, crockery, equipment – is lovely
We have stayed here before its a nice hotel with very friendly staff and they serve lovely food. Its also a good location and we are looking forward to returning so would highly recommend a stay here.
