Dating back to 1209, this impressive Gothic castle is set within a stunning 650 acres of parkland and forests.

The omelette was amazing, and there was a wonderful selection of other things such as fruit and pastries for breakfast. Our dinners were both delicious!

The staff is wonderful! All are very nice and assist each other as needed. Excellent teamwork.

Welcome to the County Arms, located in the heart of Ireland, in the beautiful heritage town of Birr, the perfect location to discover all the Midlands has to offer.

Room was spacious and adequately furnished. Due to a late meal the previous evening, we had a light breakfast which was to good standard.

Codladh Sámh is located in Templemore, just 29 miles from Kilkenny Castle and 31 miles from Kilkenny Railway Station.

My favorite stay on my Ireland trip. The couple that runs the rooms are the nicest you could meet, very attentive and made me feel welcomed to the community. The rooms are first floor, quiet, nicely decorated, the bed is comfortable, the bathroom is large and super clean, along with a small refrigerator, and desk made this location easily the best of all my stays in Ireland.

It was a beautiful space full of personal touches- from fresh-cut flowers to breakfast supplies. The property itself is situated right near the heart of town. The hosts were absolutely fantastic! I honestly cannot recommend this stay enough!

    I liked Roscrea and I did not find anything negative.

    I liked Roscrea and I did not find anything negative. Rackett Hall was an ideal location and great value to visit Birr Castle and heritage sights in surrounding towns. The food in Rackett hall was excellent and we did not find it necessary to eat elsewhere. There are several golf courses near at hand and Roscrea is a very welcoming club.

    Lovely little town.

    Lovely little town. Seemed very bustling in the business area, and St. Cronan's Catholic Church was beautiful! Also did some hiking at Orange Hill. Our only disappointment was the Roscrea Heritage Center, which was closed for renovation, and we had hoped to get help there with ancestor information. Despite being closed, the director and assistant were very friendly and helpful and gave us some great Roscrea history. Enjoyed our visit to Leap Castle, too.

    Fantastic breakfast. We enjoyed an amazing assortment of fresh fruit and cereals before a lovely cooked breakfast. We were delighted to happen across this excellent B&B as the local hotel had no availability. However, we would not hesitate in making this our first choice going forward if we were to stay in the area again. Hosts were really welcoming and went the extra mile for us. The weather was very cold but the room was lovely and warm and the bed really comfortable.

    Beautifully decorated cottage, generously equipped. Great location close to Roscrea. Homely and interesting, Lovely Woodburning stove. Also a wood pellet stove for central heating. Everything in the cottage - Bedlinen, furniture, crockery, equipment – is lovely

    We have stayed here before its a nice hotel with very friendly staff and they serve lovely food. Its also a good location and we are looking forward to returning so would highly recommend a stay here.
