The port is currently undergoing a major refit and expansion and will be considerably improved when finished. Users are not very inconvenienced by the work that is ongoing. We found accommodation in short supply and it would be strongly advisable to pre book as early as possible for your intended stay. I was transiting by the ferry to England and arrived and left in the dark. I had one day in the area and went to Johnstown Castle and grounds which is not far away. It has recently been opened to the public. I wish the weather had been better so that I could have gone to the beach at Rosslare. We had a good trip however two days before we sailed we received a text message from Stena line indicating the outward sail was cancelled. Advice was to go to Irish Ferries departing from Pembroke docks. This caused a great deal of inconvenience as both ferries were difficult to contact to re-arrange passage. Irish Ferries told us we needed to contact Stena Line before they would honour our booking. Then in the evening we received another text from Stena indicating that problems were resolved and the outward journey was on schedule. We were traveling from Kent and had arranged overnight stay in Fishguard so having to get to Pembroke was inconvenient especially when it all changed back to Fishguard!!
