Pricey Saturday to Sunday stay with a comfortable and clean room. The price included a continental breakfast (not a full breakfast). No eggs, sausage, bacon, waffles or pancakes etc. are served but can be bought for a price.
No USB hubs for electronics, just receptacles in the room. The s
taff was friendly. Convenient location. Did not eat in the restaurant as it was too busy and no seating left.

The hosts left cereals, milk, coffee, etc. It was perfect. The host also brought us warm homemade scones on the last day. They were wonderful and a nice touch.

Gorgeous, bright and well appointed period property! Lots of character! The staff were amazing and the food was absolutely exceptional! We stayed in the lake house which is lovely and quiet with views to the lake. A real gorgeous retreat! I will caveat that in the dead of winter you need to drive from the lake house to the main house for dinner as the path isn’t lit between the two. A suggested improvement would be to either light the path or offer a shuttle service to guests staying in the lake house to collect them and bring them for dinner to the main house. Having said that if you stay in the main house that would not be an issue and honestly the property itself is stunning, the grounds are beautiful, there are lovely walks and James Turrell’s Sky garden is well worth a visit! Our over-all experience we had was delightful! Definitely would love to come back and stay for longer than 1 night!

We set out on a BnB tour of Ireland looking for that perfect home-felt place and we finally found it at Glencora. We just absolutely love Annie, and she not only welcomed us as guests, she made us feel at home. We arrived late but she was welcoming and got us settled in. After a few days of uncomfortable beds, the bed at Glencora was a great surprise and we got the best night's sleep. Breakfast was the fabulous! And we got that chance to chat with our host and we appreciated that personal touch. Wish we could have stayed longer!

A place with a strong character. Very well renovated barn next to the former farmhouse with two rooms in the main space. The location is remote and it is important to follow the advice you will get from the hosts about how to use sat nav to get there. Some miles down a narrow road, better characterized as a lane.
Convenient to Skibbereen and to Mizen Head, and a great touring base. Hosts could not have been kinder. Excellent breakfast, made to order at a time of your choosing. Stuart went to some trouble to find out what was open (we were very off season).

Highly recommend Wild Ways for breakfast and pizza, the Church Restaurant for dinner in a beautiful surrounding, and O'Neill Coffee for a beautiful flat white. Great Murphy's in the Corner Bar too! Skibbereen can easily be enjoyed on foot, it's a fairly small town.

The town was very nice with a great car park over by ALDI.
The town was very nice with a great car park over by ALDI. Lovely just to walk around and browse the shop windows and potter about. For groceries also check out the Fields SuperValu store, a fantastic selection of foods and really nice staff.
While there you must also visit to Lough Hyne, a most wonderful surprise. We had no idea of its beauty.

A town with a fascinating and desperately sad history. The people were welcoming and the town had some interesting shops in particular the Vegan Bookshop which had an amazing range of books on all subjects. You must go to the Heritage Centre and see the account of the famine.

It is a quaint, friendly little town with some lovely shops like Higgildy Piggildy, Designs, Abbey Furniture. We also ate in a lovely restaurant called The Church. Skibbereen holds a farmers market on Saturday mornings and the produce is fresh and flavorsome and not expensive. Skibbereen has it's own brass band called St Fachtna's Silver Band and it was founded in 1912 and listening to them on Saturday morning was a joy. I would definitely recommend Skibbereen as a place to stay.

It was great.
It was great. But unless you have "sat-nav", booking.com directions won't get you there. We were using an Eirecode finder on my phone but as we got close, internet service suddenly quit. We had to telephone.

Hotel is conveniently located within the centre of Skibberean for ease of exploring around the town. The hotel lobby, bar, and restaurant areas are pleasant. Our room was spacious however decor was a bit of a mix match of colours and finishings although a fresh paint in a neutral colour would enhance it greatly. Hotel staff were fantastic and couldn't have been more helpful! Overall the hotel was ample for our needs and reasonable for the rates charged.
Extremely quiet rural location with owners living close by for help. Outstanding property for the price asked. The setting was idyllic with beautiful moorland scenery and outstanding views close by. Mount Gabriel - a must! Visit to Heritage Museum in Skibbereen was well worthwhile. But much else to see and do in the area.
A beautiful, peaceful sanctuary from a frenetic world, with an incredibly warm welcome from the hosts. Just a five minute drive from the town of Skibbereen, with all of stunning west Cork on your doorstep. Everything about this place was just perfect, from beginning to end. This is the very essence of Irish hospitality.
Very tastefully decorated room and great facilities in main hotel to have a relaxing drink. Restaurant food novel and worth experiencing. Staff couldn't do enough for you - they were excellent.
