Very clean, modern and comfortable. Had a late tour of the castle and it was a very cold evening. Decided to try the on-site restaurant instead of heading back out in the cold. Very good food at reasonable prices and very friendly service.

We loved the facility and its owners. It is exceptionally clean, well furnished, and warm. Our bedroom was clean, tidy and spacious. The breakfast was delicious and included eggs, bread/toast, fruit, yogurt, juice, coffee/tea and wonderful conversation. The grounds of the B&B are delightful and include cows.

Easily the most rounded town I have ever visited for a vacation. There was everything I could need there in order to support a trip, plenty of unique accommodations, dozens of attractions for free/cheap, and more than enough local places to grab a bite to eat! The public transportation is as good as you would expect, but just about everything is a casual walk away from the center of the town.

Give some time to this compact town brimming with history.
Give some time to this compact town brimming with history. A wonderful brochure is produced to explain the many historic landmarks and a circuit to tour them by car. So much going back to early Christianity and the powerful families who built Trim Castle and other structures. Plenty of good food and just a great vibe overall.

Loved our stay here!
Loved our stay here! Last 2 nights of a 2 week+ trip and loved Trim. We had 2 nice dinners in town 1 at Brogans Pub and one at the Stockhouse. Very easy to get from the house to town. Friendly and knowledgeable couple who run the house. I'd stay there again!

Trim and its surroundings are historically very interesting.
Trim and its surroundings are historically very interesting. Apart from visiting the Trim Castle, there are numerous other interesting old monastic sites, as well the Hills of Tara with an ancient monument and burial sites. Within a short drive from Dublin, the Boyne Valley has a lot to offer.

Trim has a great castle, used in the filming of Braveheart.
Trim has a great castle, used in the filming of Braveheart. The guided tour of the keep is quite good. There is a friendly family of donkeys in a pasture just down the road from the castle and you are allowed to feed them (a sign with foods that are allowed is in the pasture). Trim is a great base for exploring Bru na Boinne, Mellifont Abbey, the Hill of Tara and other areas of interest. I actually;lly would have stayed 3-4 nights instead of 2, but we had reservations in a different area.

Hosts Pam & Morris were superbly exceptional. Very warm, friendly and made us feel at home. I & my husband were attending a wedding & Pam went our of her way to accommodate our requests.Provided a suitable room with mirrored sliding doors & also lent me a matching coat. We cannot thank them enough for the hospitality and wonderful experience of staying at Butterhouse. Breakfast was good with lovely Irish bread & fresh fruit. Trim is a great place to visit. Would recommend Butterhouse to anyone visiting this part of Ireland!
We were over to attend a wedding in different location and decided to make a wee break the rooms were nice well serviced during our stay top marks to housekeeping reception staff also very friendly and helpful and also Louise and all the young waitresses who looked after us so well breakfast was always good and we had dinner 3 nights out of our 5 night stay food excellent well done all at castle arch hotel
We booked 3 rooms in total. All of the rooms were immaculate! They each had different colours and styles which enhanced the experience. We were staying for a wedding in the trim castle hotel and this b&b was ideal. It was within walking distance to the hotel and a fraction of the price! The guesthouse exceeded our expectations! We definitely would stay again.
We loved this spot. After a long flight from Australia we wanted to get out of Dublin but not drive to far. The little village of Trim (5min away) was a perfect welcome to Ireland. This property was quiet, very comfortable and welcoming.
