Even though we had no frame of reference of expectation in Waterford, both the town and this excellent property far exceeded expectations. The corner suite was massive in size and afforded a spectacular view of the Suir River and surrounds - a truly majestic setting. Further, the location is just outside the city centre of a very walkable and charming, historic city. The breakfast was most excellent; service was keen, and the bar keep at the pub on site was a delight. There was nothing but praise among our group for this top shelf location. We would stay here again.
A haven of relaxation, this contemporary hotel and leisure center is located on the outskirts of Waterford city center and just 15 minutes away from Waterford Airport.

The location is fantastic, absolutely spotless hotel , my room was fantastic. It was big and had a large private balcony with a gorgeous view of the river and all of the city , the hand soap /shampoo had such a nice smell, the bed was very comfortable and the pillows you had a choice of a soft one or a firm one , lots of tea and coffee and more milk then usually given, 3 toilet papers given . Despite being in a busy location it felt very quiet , plenty of plug sockets and even usb ports

Great hotel, modern, decorated with beautiful colours, bright, cosy, with very clean rooms. Kettle for making coffee and tea within the room, good variety of meals in the restaurant's menu. The bar also serves a wide range of coffee, tea, chocolate and deserts. All the staff is so welcome and friendly and especially the reception ladies. They assisted me with everything extraordinarily. Many thanks to Nikola, at reception, that she was amazingly kind and helpful, during my stay.

Attended a recent wedding in the hotel. The venue, staff and food was exceptional. Breakfast was beautiful, a lovely menu of hot breakfast choices to choose from, along with fresh juice. Food was a little slow, although it gave time to enjoy the beautiful scenery and enjoy the selection of yogurt, bread and pastries.

Location is very accessible to popular tourist traps.
However, it is also on the quay, which is a very busy road. Traffic noise was bothersome throughout the night.

I was in Waterford for a top class history conference organised by Waterford Treasures. This allowed us a short introduction to the Museums. I will definitely go back and visit properly. The food and service in the Museum cafe also excellent. As I walked through the city I was struck very forcibly by the kindness and consideration of the Waterford people going about their daily business. They nearly stopped to let you cross the street before you knew you needed to!!! Anywhere else I've been people are in such a hurry you take your life in your hands trying to cross the street! I was also struck by the beautiful shops individual to Waterford. Easy to understand why the hotels were booked out in November!!

Waterford was surprisingly a very interesting city with ancient roots and a vibrant civic center. It is easily accessed and parking is readily available. The OPW tower site is amazing, the two cathedrals beautiful, but the other museums, not worth the prices asked. The Waterford factory store was very nice with many choices for quality glassware, most of which is now , we found, produced on the continent. The mall shopping has plenty of opportunities to find bargains and variety without the threat of auto traffic.

The City is lovely, especially the waterfront
plenty of touristy things to do, but not a lot for young children.
the historic area is lovely to walk around "( even in the rain )
Looks like they are making improvements along the waterfront, which I think will only add the the pleasure of visitors.

Wonderful city, beautiful architecture and history.
Wonderful city, beautiful architecture and history. People are warm and friendly. We stayed here mid week so unsure what weekend would be like. We also had glorious weather ensuring the stay was even more fun. The sunny south east is right!!!
It is a student city so it's busy and bustling. The Waterford accent is magical to listen to. We really needed the break but it was far two short, for three days two nights. To get all the tours done one would easily need that again.
We went to Granville hotel for dinner, absolutely gorgeous
Breakfast and stayed in Dooley's Hotel and O couldn't recommend highly enough.
We visited the Bishops Palace and Reginalds Tower, walked on the Greenway, went to Tramore and the Japanese Gardens there, visited Dunmore East, Ardmore and tallow. We went to All Ireland Antiques, and that was charming,
Great stay

The Breakfast was made of two parts cold i.e. cereal and Porridge. and a cooked element, it can only be described as Superb.
The Room was overlooking the River Suir, lots of interest there, The Waterford City and Country are building a new Foot Bridge across the River right outside the Granville hotel, awesome !.
Right beside the River, what could be better.
Staff were amazing. Very cordial. All were communicating with customers, very very pleasant. The quality of staff from moment we arrived was much higher than we have seen in hotels in Ireland in recent years.
It was my second stay at The Fitzwilton Hotel, and once again I'm 100% satisfied with it. It's becoming my "go-to" hotel for when I travel to Waterford.
