We spent five unforgettable days at Rainforest in Athirapally in February 2025, and from the moment we arrived, we knew it was a special place. The atmosphere is incredibly relaxing, and the view of the waterfalls is simply breathtaking.
The rooms are spacious and airy, with thoughtful touches like handmade soap. We also really appreciated the hotel’s commitment to sustainability—no plastic bags or cutlery, and dim lighting at night to avoid disturbing wildlife.
The swimming pool was another highlight. It’s kept crystal clear and cleaned every morning, and swimming with the waterfalls in the background is an experience in itself.
Being surrounded by forest, we spotted sambar deer, leaf birds, wild boars, and giant squirrels—it felt like being in the heart of nature.
But what truly made our stay special was the service team, especially Zakhir and Suresh, who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Their kindness, attentiveness, and genuine care made all the difference, and we couldn’t be more grateful.
Rainforest felt like home away from home, and we can’t wait to come back.

The room was spacious. The “resort” has a good location to visit the waterfalls and also offers other activities in the area. The staff was friendly when dealt with.
We had dinner which was very good and they were kind enough to adjust it to our preferences. The dinner was even sent to our room which improved our comfort since.

I have been traveling in India for 35 years and this is the first really clean place I have come across!
The room was very clean and had 2 power sockets, which is rare in Indian rooms!
Very good a.c and fan.
The hosts really kind and sweet!
The food cooked by the host's mom, amazing!
The guys, they cover whatever need you have and do the best they can!!
The area around the house, a forest of endless beauty and peace!
Space for rest and renewal.
Lots of beautiful parks to visit!!
Their cleanliness and kindness won me over!!
I highly recommend it and wish I could go again, to visit the butterfly park, which I didn't have time for!
Thank you guys!

The area is beautiful, don't get me wrong. It is very very distant however, with complete lack of services. Don't expect pharmacies, selection of restaurants or even a large variety of activities. We visited dead in the middle of winter, but the heat and humidity make it virtually impossible for any sort of hiking or other extended physical activities. There's enough to do and see for one night, don't stay longer.

Only visit during the monsoons as the lack of water in the falls, the hot climate lack of proper dining facilities and poor road conditions does not make it a very attractive destination..best for a day trip at the most..
