The work on the property was not complete. The swimming pool was not finished and the garden was still being built when we were there.
We had a room with a balcony view over the sea, which was very nice.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
This was the most expensive place we stayed in India. We did expect that the rooms would have been cleaned every day. Also would be good if you could pay by credit card. We had to extract a large amount of money from the bank in various stages to pay our bill in cash.
Set in Benaulim, a few steps from Sernabatim Beach, Furtado Beach Cottages offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a private beach area and a restaurant.

Worst experience ever
We had booked two cottages for the weekend. Cottages are average. AC wasn’t cooling whatsoever. Staff kept saying wait for half an hour for the room to cool and made us wait for 2 hours outside the cottage. Staff are not friendly at all. Very arrogant. After complaining that the AC hasn’t chilled a bit the guy has the audacity to say that it’s chilling and he can’t do anything about it as there are Patra sheets on the roof. Told us that he will give us another cottage but that was equally bad.
Not at all worth the price

The hotel is in a terrible shape and the.service is even worse. The photos are misleading. Dirty cups and kettle left outside the room by the previous guest was not picked up until many hours after we checked in. The bed linen were dirty and we had to make multiple requests for the sheets to be changed. There was no drinking water given to us despite multiple requests. The room had insects and mosquitoes and no repellent was available. The bathroom taps did not have any water when we arrived around 2:30 pm. There was a lot of noise, doors banging and people shouting in the corridors, the entire night. A total nightmare! Thank goodness we checked out in a day.

Stayed for nine days as we were backpacking and needed a litt!e R and R.
Found the roads very busy with drivers and riders going too fast , a few traffic calming measures really need putting in place.
Plenty of places to eat or just have a drink and the beach was always lively at night.
Still budget friendly places to stay if you are prepared to knock on doors and do a bit of walking and haggling.
Favourite places to eat for us were Savios , Roof Top and Johnncys, all turning out great food .

We were in South Goa for 5 days, 3 days at Beleza and 2 days at Azaya. The food at these resorts and other establishments was superb. The beaches are quiet and the sunsets are perfect. We were told by those who had stayed in North Goa and then stayed in South Goa would now only stay in South Goa going forward as the beaches were quieter.

There are many restaurants within a few minutes walk serving a variety of cuisines, Indian, Thai, Italian, continental. The price of eating out with a drink is about a quarter of UK prices. Beer about £1.50, Run £2.20 for .75Lrt bottle. Several supermarkets and Wine Shops to get food & drink to consume in the apartment. Tuk Tuk ride to the beach about £1,10. On the beach the sun beds are free if you buy drink and food from their shack.

Rooms are extremely clean and Merino is a superhost, he would make sure that your stay is comfortable. Location is close to Benaulim beach and a very quiet, green and safe vicinity. Host also gave us an early check-in and a late check-out. I'd surely stay here again when I visit south Goa.
Great location just 10 mins walk to the beach or the village. Lovely and rural with real authentic Goan feel. Hosts friendly and helpful with a couple of friendly dogs and cute kittens. Rooms are basic but clean with a firm mattress. Excellent value for money.
Overall Great experience, Rooms where clean and well maintained, Host was so kind and also very helpful too, Next time when I will visit South Goa definitely once again I will stay here...
