I will definitely recommend to stay in this place to the ones coming to bir. All facilities here are top notch. Dorms are bigger than other places, very clean, provide bathroom essentials, wifi is stable. They do have a kitchen providing good food with a large cafeteria. This place is less than 4 min walk from the main road but once you reach here this is one of the calmest place in bir. Chokling monastery is directly opposite, one of the must visit places. Go to the terrace to get the best sunset views. The front office guy can be a little more cordial.

Bir is a paragliding paradise.
Bir is a paragliding paradise. Must visit if you want to glide. Other than that it has nice cafe vibe, peaceful monasteries and surrounding orchards are nice for morning walk. Don't miss the sunset from the landing site.

"Hello, fellow wanderers!
"Hello, fellow wanderers! 🌍 If you’re looking for a destination that combines adventure and tranquility, Bir (in Himachal Pradesh, India) should be on your list.
Why Bir?
Paragliding Heaven: Known as the ‘Paragliding Capital of India,’ it’s an absolute dream for thrill-seekers. Soaring over the lush valleys and mountains is an experience you’ll never forget! 🪂
Charming Cafés: After an adrenaline rush, unwind at cozy cafés serving delicious food with stunning views. My favorites? (Drop your specific recommendations here, e.g., ‘Avva’s Café.’ or "June 16" ). I felt "Silver lining and Norther Cafe ( good only for sunset view) but too over rated for food they serve.
Avva Desam is a MUST and loved their Chicken & mutton keema Dosa, Mangalorian chicken and mutton dum biryani.
Weather was clear when we travelled from 21st-24th Dec'24 with no snow. We left from Gurgaon at around 7:00 AM & reached Bir via Mandi at 6:30 PM.
Whether you’re chasing the clouds or enjoying a quiet evening with a cup of coffee, Bir has something magical for everyone. Safe travels and happy exploring! ✈️✨

Bir is an amazing place to chill and relax.
Bir is an amazing place to chill and relax. It's less commercialized, there's lots of open spaces and small hikes to explore around by your own. Take a electric cycle and roam around nearby villages and take in the himachali life.
