Everything was perfect.
Only disappointment we had was the newly opened Loya restaurant didn’t sit us the same day after telling us they will. So we had to change plans for the evening. Other than that everything was perfect.

Fernandez was the best - super helpful, very accommodating, and he gave me his personal phone number since I could only make calls through WhatsApp and the front desk was a land line. The rest of the staff were also wonderful and friendly, but Fernandez was exceptional!

Embark on an authentic Indian joyride into mad Mumbai’s chaotic streets with its revving rickshaws, bustling bazaars, timeless temples and colonial history. This melting pot of Indian culture features a mix of rich Bollywood wannabes and the city’s slum dwellers, all residing together in India’s most populous city.
South Mumbai is a useful starting point with the symbolic Gateway of India in Colaba welcoming local Marathis and tourists alike. Opposite is the impressive Taj Mahal Palace & Tower Hotel. The Art Deco Regal Cinema underlines Mumbai’s colonial heritage.
A top Indian curry comprises key ingredients and your Mumbai experience should also include a menu of fashion, film and nightlife. Leopold Café is a place to be seen and there are many other chic bars and clubs. You can do a Bollywood tour where you can even feature as an extra in a film!
During the day, take a trip by ferry to the Elephanta Island with its caves and then spend the evening people watching on Chowpatty Beach in the south or Juhu Beach in the west.
Booking.com has hotels in Adheri in the west, around the fort and train station in the south or nearby central Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, amongst many others.

Mumbai is a big city , and distances are huge , with cab trips lasting one and a half hours not at all unusual.
This was not at all to our liking coming from Chennai where a trip of even half an hour is quite long.
Mumbai should be experienced only during or immediately after the monsoon , or during the winter , when travelling around the city is likely to be less exhausting.
The positive is that Uber is readily available , and surprisingly cheap , since even a trip of 20 kms. would be less than Rs. 400 , whereas such a trip in Chennai would cost upwards of Rs. 600.
We would have liked to avail public transport such as the metro and the airconditioned EV buses , which are cheap. The weather and our short stay did not permit this.

A fascinating city of unexpected amazingness.
A fascinating city of unexpected amazingness. Loved going on tours - day and night - with our own guide each time. An absolute must. The slum tour by a resident of the slum was a perspective-disrupting wonder. The world's largest outdoor laundry - even when you see it, it's hard to believe it. Genius. Night time tour - fascinating! Elephanta Island - our local guide was superb.

Mumbai is fabulous - yes, it can take some getting used to if you're from "the West' but it has so much to offer in terms of food/ hospitality, shopping and there are some great tourist spots within the city and not far away.

Mumbai is a shopping hub with very few sightseeing spaces (but they are worth it). The variety of food is perfect for foodies and avoid any heartburn with their lassis! Stay near Crawford market since the other markets are literally within walking distance from there.

Walking distance from Mumbai airport, this hotel is perfect location for short visits. The room was really clean and comfortable and the shower had great pressure and hot water. We were able to walk to the metro nearby and later to the airport for our outbound international flight. Though in an industrial area, the food options nearby are plentiful and super delicious and extraordinarily cheap!
We were only in the hotel for a few hours having missed our flight. The room was excellent but the best part of our stay was the breakfast. Probably the best breakfast I have ever had in a hotel. In particular Kaif in the restaurant went out of his way to make the breakfast experience exceptional, I would recommend this hotel to anyone planning to stay near to Mumbai International Airport.
Breakfast was really good (even better than my favourite 5 star hotel in Mumbai). Staff were very friendly and helpful, particularly at breakfast. Rooftop pool with views of the airport runway is very cool, though we didn't get to spend any time there other than a quick look. Rooms comfortable, well equipped, sound proofed from airport.
