There are just three buggies for 56 rooms. Not a five star resort by any means.
1. There are just three buggies that can take two guests at time and 56 rooms in total. Do the ‘how long do I have to wait?’ math when you want to go to the restaurant or spa from room. 30-40 mins.
2. Bad check in experience. Did not even get a glass of water let alone tea/coffee/juice. Again, they call themselves a five star property
3. Had called the property repeatedly at least from a week before arrival to book spa slot was told it can be done after check in every time, even on the day of arrival. When we called after we got our room, surprise! All slots were booked. So much so for managing and communicating.
4. Told the staff they need to stay at Taj Madikeri for a day to understand what hospitality is. After all the tariffs are similar and both are five star properties.
5. The Tamara Coorg was an unpleasant experience at best. Tamara Kodai was a superb experience. Wonder where the brand got lost.
6. When informed the front office about these issues, we were told the Manager, Mr Sakrhitharan R, would call back and address the issue. Surprise again! Not only did he not call but when I called him twice, went unanswered.

The hospitality was top notch and the facilities were well maintained. The restaurant had a bunch of options to choose from at a very nominal price.

Awesome location and nice host like parents…Thanks Mr. & Mrs. Kariappa for your hospitality…I would recommend to stay in the home stay to enjoy full mist and foggy climate during the early morning…it’s located in dense coffee plantation with plenty of natural beauty….Food in home stay is more like home. Well prepared and Hygenic food. Special thanks to Kariappa aunty since I have travelled with infant and she has extended great support to provide proper quality of milk. Overall experience is nice.

This is a fabulous colonial and heritage property. The owner, Trishul, is a very kind and generous person and is efficient and prompt to guide you. A very special thanks and warm regards to Meena Aunty, Trishul's mother who lovingly fed us abundantly, delicious buffet ( breakfast and dinner) and with the amazingly lip smacking native dishes. Her prolific meals are a wonderous feast, I bet God's themselves won't dare give a miss to that. Ashwin, the caretaker took very good care of us without a moment of hesitation. The tariff for stay is at a very decent price. If you love slow walks, bird watching, star gazing and nature this is a wonderful place. Coffee buffs if you want to see the coffee beans from scratch how they grow and are sun dried, plz don't miss this place. The entire place brims with the warm coffee berry scent. One of the best homestays I have been to and would like to come back again and again.

Location:- good place surrounded by coffee plantations and greenery.
Perfect escape from human life.. Fabulous location and view from the bedroom. Have an open space to play badminton and mini games. As Owner of the stay is a botanical passionate, he will explain about many plant and wildlife varieties and also will take u to hidden places where no one has jumped in.. U can have a great knowledge if u speak for just 10mins with him. I had great stay to conclude....
