This was probably our best stay in India. We arrived to a very clean room with AC. The location was perfect for relaxing on the beach (1 min walk). You can borrow a parasol and beach chairs. The area of the beach had basically no tourists, just a little beach restaurant. The town is full of very friendly people, this includes the hosts of the hotel. They were very friendly, flexible and accommodating. The food at the hotel was excellent and fairly priced. (I would also recommend Fisherman’s Cafe - especially their squid fry starter) Overall 11/10, would specifically go to Alleppey to stay here next time I’m in India.

Set 60 metres from Marari Beach, Marari Neena Beach homestay offers a private beach area, a garden and air-conditioned accommodation with a balcony and free WiFi.

This lovely room is just steps away from the beach - truly the perfect location! The host was incredibly welcoming and charming, making us feel right at home. The breakfast spread was exceptional, with a delightful variety each day. Neena also offers lunch and dinner, which we tried one evening, and the food was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend trying their meals during your stay — it’s some of the best food we’ve had in Kerala!

Lovely homestay. The room was very cool, we didn’t need the AC. Everything was clean and neat. The owner was also lovely and very helpful, he provided a kettle and some coffe :). Is located about 8min walking from the beach. No complains, we had a lovely time.

Pool villa was perfect. Privacy and plenty of room to relax. Having our own pool was perfect. We ate all meals at villa, all were perfect. Staff were extremely accommodating and helpful to us with our 9 month old baby. Huge thanks to everyone at Beach Symphony for a perfect stay

The whole family were so welcoming here. The owner picked us up from the train station in his own tuk tuk and we were able to use our room immediately even though it was only 9am. It’s so peaceful there and there’s a little veranda to sit out on under the fans. We had a delicious lunch there and also breakfast the next day. It’s just a 10 minute walk to a beautiful beach. I recommend walking down there at dawn to watch the fishermen coming in on their rafts. The Homestay is just a couple of minutes walk from a bus stop which we used to get to Alleppey afterwards. There’s also a little shop on the corner there where you can buy drinks/snacks. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Situated 200 metres from Marari Beach, Bella Beach Villa offers a private beach area, a garden and air-conditioned accommodation with a terrace and free WiFi.

Lovely comfortable bed and room with terrace overlooking garden just a stone's throw from the beach. Biju and Natasja are wonderful hosts and I just had the best conversations with her. Special praise for the excellent coffee (a rarity in India) she makes to accompany Biju's delicious and huge breakfast.

The host is really lovely and took good care of me..made me ginger tea because I was coughing and it felt like home. Location is near the beach so very convenient and the garden is very relaxing. There was lovely hot water from the shower (no need of the bucket)

Very small sleepy village perfect for a remote escape. Unspoiled beach and nature with friendly inhabitants. A total escape. It is not a tourist spot but a quiet escape. The remoteness means little amenities like restaurants and shops. Come prepared with some snacks and supplies. A large resort hotel and some smaller ones, along with homestay, but little else for the independent traveller

Great area - a little away from the hustle & bustle of other areas so it is quieter. The beach is beautiful, clean & quiet. Easy to get transport to other areas for more activity - close to backwater tours etc. Only limitation is perhaps lack of eating out options within walking area, best to have hotel with restaurant otherwise will need to travel by tuk tuk or taxi.

The resort was a little too far away from the beach and the beach had no chairs, shade or umbrellas making it very difficult to stay very long. The surrounding area was not good to stroll around. The massage treatments are a 10 minute tuk tuk ride away and are quite expensive for India £34. We have been paying £15 previously.

I was at much trouble due to the stay at Mararikulam due to booking at Spot On Sb Cruise, Aleppey (There is no such property). So I was to search for another property with the help of some Good Local peoples and by their efforts, I got a place to sleep.

I like very much all areas of Mararikulam, I think it is cleaner than other places. The beach is amazing and magical, people are very kind. it is a paradise on earth, unfortunately, my resort needs some restoration, especially rooms, and the swimming pool. Nature is really enchanting I was in Seclude Marari sand resort, potentially the best part of the beach but the resort needs some work. It is quite expensive for the services it offers

Every day was special, a smile from our lovely housekeeper, restaurant staff went out of their way to keep our tea cups filled with a huge smile. Second holiday at Marari and looking forward to the next one. Lovely big room, nothing a problem. Thanks Marari

This was a great hotel. Staff very friendly, particularly the staff in the restaurant. The food was excellent we ate there a few times. It's in a good location; we cycled to Marari Beach which was easy. The kayak ride to the beach was great but the beach area there is disappointing. A lot of trash from the sea; so not very appealing - hence the cycle ride to Marari Beach which is worth doing. There was always beer and wine available. The room was very comfortable and clean.

Top class boutique hotel, exquisite attention to detail in rooms, gardens, food. Very helpful staff. Overall one of the best properties we have stayed in. Booked for one night ended up staying three. Owners also have a property in Cochin, (The Fort Bungalow) which we subsequently booked based on this experience.

The care that Telma and Martin bestowed upon us was truly endearing making their homestay a home away from home. And the wonderful Marari beach is only a minute's walk away helping us us soak in its beauty in early morning and late evening golden sunlight to our heart's content .
