I had the most wonderful stay at Cafe Buransh, being a solo traveller it was the most amazing experience I could have ever got! Cafe Buransh is nestled amidst breathtaking mountains, the location offers stunning views of Chopta Valley and Sari Village that you can enjoy right from the comfort of your room or the cozy balcony. The peaceful atmosphere makes it a perfect retreat for anyone looking to escape the chaos of the city. I travelled from London specially to stay in this place, because have read about Cafe Buransh on its site about the idea of creating this place at Sari village and the Owner has considered many ways of sustainable environment friendly aspects to build this homestay. The hosts were incredibly warm and welcoming, making me feel like part of their family. The rooms were spotless, well-maintained, and equipped with all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. The home-cooked meals were a highlight of the trip – delicious, fresh, and made with love. I also appreciated the little touches, like the outdoor seating area to enjoy morning tea while watching the sunrise, and the helpful tips from the hosts about nearby trails and attractions. This place is a gem for anyone who loves nature, tranquility, and genuine hospitality.
My stay was peaceful retreat away from the noise. I was impressed with the room maintenance as its mentioned on the site, it keeps you warm with cosy feel inside the room , great in terms of the cleanliness and welcoming staff. I had visited this place in 2018 while i was on Chandrashila trek, since then waited for this day to come again and stay at this place. Definitely, would love to visit and stay again at this beautiful place.
Thank you Randeep sir, Mahadevan and Rakesh for the great Hospitality! Ofcorse can't forget to mention about Luna (puppy) and Simba (dog) (pets) for playing around me :)

We stayed in Baniyakund, a few kms away from Sari.
We stayed in Baniyakund, a few kms away from Sari. The place is powered by solar, and needs conservative usage on overcast days. Mobile connectivity is spotty. This is a great base for exploring sacred places, trekking routes and camp life. The place is very beautiful and provides scenic view of snow capped peaks like kedarnath and chaukhambha.
Best to ask advice and get proper gear to ensure you are always dry and warm, an important lesson which we learnt the hard way. Camp fires are banned in Uttarakhand forest areas, and so is private tent camping.
Please plan carefully a zero trash stay to help conserve the place. Best have own transport like a car or bike to go to trek base points. This camp is the last point in winter where snow cutters work. After this, roads are closed in winter time. So, winter treks will be longer by several kms. The place is available and accessible throughout the year, subject to road access, which can easily become blocked by landslides, or cloudbursts.
We did a few short (8 kms average) day treks.to Tungnath / Chandrashila, Deoriya Tal, Anusuya Devi mandir and virgin meadows. There are plenty of such spots.
It served as an introduction for us to plan longer walks in higher places in the future, during different seasons. The hosts are experienced and knowledgeable.
Its can also simply be a place to experience camping and short walks to nearby meadows which are also really lovely.
Food is freshly prepared for each meal and we enjoyed hot and tasty meals throughout.
