This homestay is perfect for anyone wanting to escape the busier town or cities. It is quite literally on an island, and only accessible by boat (which is arranged and driven by the host!) The views of the Backwaters are stunning, and Binduraj was very helpful and arranged transport and anything else we needed. He took us on walks around the island, and a sunrise boat trip through the mangroves (for a very small fee). There is a basic kitchen, with a fridge/freezer and hot plates.

We absolutely loved everything about our stay. Anu and her family are truly exceptional hosts. The property is brand new and, in terms of facilities, the best we’ve experienced so far. It’s independent from the family home, offering a beautiful room and a cozy lounge area. Anu even set up an additional Wi-Fi network to ensure we had a strong connection. She is by far the best host we’ve ever had—kind, attentive, and deeply generous, and an amazing woman and mum. She shared so much about life in Kerala that we truly felt at home.
