Before our stay we corresponded with the hotel several times as we were not sure we would be able to come due to my husband’s father being very poorly. The staff were so kind and understanding. This hotel has a great location on the lakeside away from the town centre but from the boat jetty we had an amazing sunrise view of the city palace. Sunset boat trip for just the two of us was well worth the money. Sunset point in the spacious grounds was also wonderful. Food was great and all staff very friendly. We enjoyed using the gym and then having a swim. We booked the free individual yoga sessions in the morning. Vish the yoga and sports instructor was so good at personalising the yoga. My husband cycles a lot and is quite inflexible. Vish gave him some exercises that will help him and also helped me have a go at some yoga poses that I have never quite mastered.

Fantastic and very serene location on the lake. Views from the room were amazing. The rooftop restaurant was awesome and again with great views, the staff looked after us really well when we visited for dinner. Food was also extremely tasty. Breakfast spread was very good with lots of options .

Previously owned by the Maharaj of Madri and restored to its current state, Madri Haveli features elegant rooms with stained glass windows. The area around it is conserved for tourist heritage walk.

Such a gem. Wonderfully restored, the room was phenomenal. The staff extremely polite and helpful. Drivers booked through the hotel were great and reasonably priced. The rooftop views were lovely.

A beautifully restored building in a great location. This place exceeded my expectations. My room was large, very clean, beautifully styled, and had good air con and hot water. The owner, Akshay, made contact before I arrived and ensured that I got to the guest house safely from my bus. He assisted with everything i needed. This is also the family home and the family are friendly, it was nice to see the children and parents each day. Shanti was super helpful, recommending things to do and arranging a tuk tuk for me. Breakfast was good 👍 Definitely recommended.

    The lakes and how it is an important part of the day to day life of the locals is incredible and add the palaces and the abundance of street food venders and shops and you’ve got the perfect place! Cold beer at Sun&Moon rooftop with it’s friendly staff and music is a must and lounging at the lakeside restaurant with a cold kingfisher (which is here cheaper than sun&moon) is lovely too. You simply must try the street food from the guys opposite the hide in hotel at the bottom of chatpole bridge …. Too die for and queues from locals all afternoon and evening! Very fresh and scrumptious

    Udaipur, the lake city, is amazing and beautiful. If you like nature and walking there are so many things to do, better do the while the day is sunny or light, not at night. Lake's views are simply stunning, food and people are friendly. You can also do some shopping as there are so many options. There are some temples to visit too if you are interested in. And about food, I am vegan, and there as lots of options too. So don't think twice and go to Udaipur, is such an amazing city! Enjoy India! With love, Maria <3

    Udaipur is a beautiful city.

    Udaipur is a beautiful city. One must definitely visit to experience the royalty, history and rich culture of India. It is such a vibrant city that you will fall in love with the surroundings and want to never leave the city. The people are helpful. You can everything in the city - be it the night life or spiritual experiences. Udaipur has got you covered for a wonderful vacation. Must visit.

    The vibe is peaceful yet lively, with stunning sunsets over Lake Pichola and boat rides that feel straight out of a movie. The City Palace is grand, the streets are full of colorful markets, and the food—especially dal baati churma—is delicious. Perfect for couples, history lovers, and anyone who enjoys beautiful views.

    Udaipur is a unique city, not just in India but worldwide.

    Udaipur is a unique city, not just in India but worldwide. It most closely resembles towns on the Italian lakes. To compare it to Venice is a stretch, but the lake shore with its temples and ghats and palaces is enchanting. The lake also provides cooling breezes in the evenings - I was there in February. The hilly skyline adds to the environmental charm. The old town is easily walkable, with interesting narrow winding and sloping streets. Compared to most Indian cities there are ample cafes and restaurants catering for Western tastes - most of them with rooftop views. That said, I was surprised by the extent to which the traditional culture of the town flourished despite the tourists!

    For me, it's a must visit when I'm in India..... way more appealing than Agra for example. Find a hotel with a roof terrace overlooking the Lake Palace and enjoy the magnificent sunsets with a large Kingfisher. Bliss!

    Having spent a lot of time in several mid-range hotels in India, this must rank as one of the best. Super new and modern. Spotlessly clean, very comfy bed, strong air con, reliable WiFi, large room, fridge and regularly topped up tea and coffee etc. Great location, peaceful and close to both lakes.     The best hotel we stayed during our trip in India. The rooms were enormous, super clean and cosy, very comfortable beds. The hotel has a nice terrace. The owner was helpful and spoke good English. Location is only 15mins walking distance from the old town and only a few minutes by tuk tuk. If I ever come back to Udaipur, will definitely stay at this place again!
