Stayed here to be close to the music venue across the street. Great location, very nice house, clean and tidy and great city and people all around. Would stay again if I was going to this city.

Comfortable little cottage. A bit close to the road, but I couldn't hear much traffic noise inside. Plenty of hot water, wasn't cold, super-fast wifi. Easy self check-in. Not far from Akranes where there are grocery stores and a few restaurants. Perfectly good base to explore the lovely Hvalfjördur area or anywhere just north of Borgarnes.

Although the room was a little smaller than I expected, I can’t complain. The beds were very comfortable, room was clean, shower was really nice and all front desk staff we encountered were GREAT! We were able to check in early without issue, when I went to buy a bottle of water the front desk gal let me know the tap water there was drinkable (which I was hesitant about) but it was good and saved us money, and when we had last minute issues with our pre-booked transportation to the main bus station the front desk lady - at midnight - booked us a taxi for 3am. There are plenty of areas to hang out in the hotel, too, like the little library, lobby near the fire, community table and conference room. We liked being by the marina and within walking distance to the Lava Show and downtown.

Newly renovated during the spring of 2023, Hotel Local 101 is an independent hotel quietly tucked away in the heart of downtown Reykjavik, on a charming street made up of classical Icelandic homes.

We really enjoyed the location, the spacious room, and the bath amenities, as well as the lobby’s working area. The view from our room was quite lovely. However, one downside was the bed—it consisted of two single beds rather than a standard double bed.
