Great location to see the south. It had a microwave, a small fridge, toaster, kettle and coffee machine with complementary tea and coffee. Single use cutlery, cups and plates for free use. Also, a large laundry area for guests to use. Clean bathroom, fresh linen and towels. The host was attentive.

Greta location - 2 mins walk to the main part of Selfoss. Parking. We had the spa to ourselves! Big and modern room. Good selection for breakfast.
This eco-friendly hotel, 30 minutes’ drive from Reykjavik, is surrounded by nature in the town of Ölfus.

Absolutely love this property. That’s 4th time I stayed here. The staff are friendly. Put rooms were nearly decorated. Hot tub is amazing. Very. Ice food in restaurant. Not a massive choice, but has everything you need and amazing service. Breakfast is delicious and staff are very accommodating

Eyrarbakki itself does not have much in the way of facilities but the beach is great, the location works well as a base for exploring and the local town, Selfoss, is a good place for grocery shopping. We were able to drive to Thingvellir, Geysir, Reykjavík, Vestmannaeyjar etc. within only about an hour.

Eyrarbakki, when you first encounter it, may seem sleepy and insignificant when you first arrive, unless you already seek such qualities! However, there are plenty of delightful surprises. Locals have an imagination! so you will see outdoor sculpture and turf houses where you least expect it. Keep looking, keep walking along the coastal berm.

Loved the location near the sea, the walking path behind the hostel and through town was lovely. The kitchen was well equipped and spacious seating, enough for small groups. The bathrooms are shared gender with private WC and shower stalls, with plenty of space. The town is small but only a short drive to Selfoss to get to major stores and grocery. Love the calm, quiet vibes here

Eyrarbakki is a very quiet little Icelandic village on the coast. There is virtually nothing to do in the village itself but it is a convenient place to stay for visiting the local area. Selfoss is about a ten minute drive away and Reykjavik about 40-50 minutes.

Lovely seaside village with significant cultural history.
Lovely seaside village with significant cultural history. Wonderful examples of uniquely Icelandic architecture. Excellent local museum in well preserved historic house and outbuildings. Wonderful raised path along a very long stretch of coast and a large beach. Hiking and bike trail to next village. Excellent restaurant and well stocked general store.
