Real pretty location when visiting North Iceland. Love the individual rooms and view is amazing. Hotel dinner was so good and free breakfast was amazing!! We didn’t get northern lights but boy if there was one this place couldn’t have been better. Love the heated bathroom too.

The breakfast was a standard over the top European style with both hot and cold foods. It was wonderful. We also had dinner there the night before and thoroughly enjoyed it. We stayed in what they called the farmhouse and it was modern and very comfortable. The location is a bit out-of-the-way, but what a wonderful spot! Highly recommend.

The night manager was quick to move us to another room when we noted the room smelled of cigarette smoke. Very pleasant person and apologetic.

Breakfast was self-serve which was good. There were plenty of clean towels and washcloths, cotton pads and buds. Bed was comfortable and felt clean. Black out curtains where good and mesh shutters in windows to keep flies and bugs out. And the room was very roomy with plenty of space to keep your belongins.

Location was amazing. Unfortunately our weather was awful, so we didn't explore the property fully but it looked extraordinary through the windows, right on the coast - wished we could have explored low tide there. The host was awesome - he navigated us through the bad weather driving conditions and make a great breakfast. The facility is really nice with room upstairs and a large sitting/dining area downstairs. Overall a great place.
We stayed not in Hofstadir. And that is the problem.
We stayed not in Hofstadir. And that is the problem. They have a dependance building like 750 mtr away from Hofstadir. Its like staying with the family with grandma overseeing your actions (really, she does).
So be sure to book Hofstadir and not farmhouse. The family is very friendly and helpfull and the Hofstadir (not farmhouse) looks very nice with view over the fjord..
