13 miles from Godafoss Waterfall in Húsavík, Svartaborg provides accommodations with access to a hot tub and open-air bath. With pool views, this accommodation features a patio.

Svartaborg was absolutely fantastic! It was my and my 24yo nephew’s favorite place that we stayed in Iceland. It is also one of my top 5 favorite places that I’ve ever stayed in worldwide. It was so nice I plan to come back just to stay there longer. Everything was top notch, from the cool modern design to the hosts having thought of everything to include and laying out the space in the most functional way. The main bedroom faced a waterfall which was beautiful to look at through the large picture window. Throughout the house, there were large windows to look out at the landscape from multiple directions, while at the same time the houses were spaced far enough from each other for privacy. There were also blackout curtains in the living room. The hot tub/pot was very easy to use, had a great view of the landscape, was privately tucked into a berm, and had a clean path from the house to the tub, so no shoes were needed. There was even a door off the bathroom, so you could walk back in there and not drip water over the house. The bed was super comfortable and very large for Iceland. My nephew slept on the couch and said it was also comfortable. The towels and soap/bath products were 5 star hotel quality and were representative of this area of the world. The pottery and dishes throughout the house were stunning and authentic to the area as well. The location was super quiet and I saw a lot of the night sky and even faint northern lights. It was conveniently located between Húsavík and Akureyri. I am looking forward to returning!

Husavik was our favourite town in Iceland.

Husavik was our favourite town in Iceland. Fabulous whale watching cruise, including two rarely seen blue whales. The GeoSea Thermal Pools are a great spot for a beer in a warm salt water pool overlooking the ocean. Several excellent restaurants and bars too.

Whale watching was excellent on the sunset trip at 7.30-10.30pm. Watched four humpback whales surface feeding and diving down. Puffin colony nearby too. Good for seabird watching. Otherwise not much to Husavik for us - a service centre with fuel, food shops, a few restaurants and new pool complex that looked good but we did not visit.

Whale Watching was a bonus as we managed to spend 30 minutes with a Minke. If you are driving to Husavik from south, then make sure you have ample time to stop and admire the highlands and also complete the diamond circle. Make sure you stick to speed limit of 90KM across Iceland ;-)

I stayed here mostly for the GeoSea spa.

I stayed here mostly for the GeoSea spa. It was very snowy so I ended up cutting some of the driving out of my day and got here early. Except for whale watching and the spa, there is almost nothing to do here. (Unless you're there at the time of the music festival). A great place to stay though if you're seeing the diamond circle. Lovely views and nice people in town as well.

    Husavik is a delight!

Husavik is a delight! The spot to experience the north Coast of Iceland. Lots to see and do, dont miss out on the bath! Very good restaurants. Use Google! Museums, whale and puffins, just get the atmosphere of a harbour facing the far north. We drove up north on F25 and consideringit takes another two hours to get there once you hit Road1 we thought this was overdoing it a bit. But no. I instead wish we had stayed overnight closerto Akureyri and continued to Husavik. The drive is just to beutiful to do whenyou are tried. Spend at least two nights, -the point is not to feel stressed. Then continue to Myrvatn.

A clean, cosy room. We arrived to a note on the reception to welcome us with our room key. A nice touch was a bar of Icelandic chocolate waiting for us in our room. The hotel is perfectly placed next to the harbour and next to the Eurovision cafe/ exhibition and a short walk away from the geothermal pool. We would stay here again.

Liked everything about the property. We had a nice large room facing the waterfall. Big bathroom as well. Stayed here for three nights. Food in the restaurant was good and everyone at the hotel was super friendly. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.
