Sandgerði – 3 hotels and places to stay

Situated just 27 km from Blue Lagoon, Dagpol features accommodation in Sandgerði with access to a garden, a shared lounge, as well as a shared kitchen.

Rooms were large with comfortable beds. The property itself was warm and welcoming on a wet and windy night, in true Icelandic style, and was easy to find with parking outside. We were only there overnight leaving very early the following morning, so did not get chance to make much use of the kitchen (other than for making drinks) and dining facilities, but it all looked sparkling clean and well appointed. The bathroom was large and very well appointed with showering materials and towels provided. A wee touch of luxury to finish a magical 10 days in Iceland. The only bit of information that would have been useful in advance was knowledge about who else would be in the property whilst we were there, as we did not know if we would have the property to ourselves, or the owners would be onsite.

Located in Sandgerði village, these basic wooden cottages are a 10-minute drive away from Keflavik Airport. Free WiFi is available.

The place was spotless and super easy to get to. You can check in using the password they sent you in an email, and check out in the same way. It’s a breeze, and you won’t have to worry about being late for check-in.

This hotel is only 100 metres from Keflavík International Airport and 25 minutes’ drive from the Blue Lagoon geothermal spa. WiFi and parking are free during your stay.

It’s a 5 min walk from the airport. Just across the car park. So it’s very convenient. It’s clean & the staff is helpful.

This hotel offers a free drop-off shuttle service to the neighbouring Keflavík International Airport between 04:00 and 10:00. WiFi and private parking are also free.

Shuttle was super convenient for an early morning flight. Getting there the day prior was a little complex, but the bus 55 drops you within 10 min walk. There was a miscommunication on the bed type, which was immediately resolved by the lovely reception staff. The restaurant was great. Well-appointed with a little shop at reception to purchase food. The room was huge, and the bathroom was great.

Hotel Jazz is located in Keflavík, 21 km from the Blue Lagoon and offers selfservice check-in and check-out. The seaside promenade, restaurants and shopping are only a minute's walk away. WiFi is...

Out of the four places I stayed at during my Iceland trip, I had the least expectations about Hotel Jazz due to the average Booking.com score, so I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived and found a nicely decorated hotel, and a squeaky clean room with seaview. The bed was very comfortable and I had the best sleep of my trip. The staff is very friendly and happy to help with any request. I found the room a little too warm, and the receptionist kindly turned down the underfloor heating. The location is ideal for the airport, as it's just a 10-minute drive away. I would not hesitate to stay here again on my next trip to Iceland.

Comfortable and quiet (although we had some very strong wind!) but also very convenient for the airport.

We chose to stay here on our last night in Iceland, for the convenience of the airport. It was really good, a very easy 10/15 minute drive, with no traffic or weather worries so was well worth it! Its close to blue lagoon too so you could go there, but it was fully booked for us so we drove up to Sky lagoon instead to soother our aching muscles! Has a hot tub which we didn't use as we had been to the lagoon but would have been a nice way to finish off especially as we were treated to a great Aurora display.. a fantastic way to bid farewell to Iceland! Very well equipped and nicely furnished. The only slight negative if we were staying longer is the walls were a little thin in the semi detached and you could hear next door at times, as they had a full house, so I would opt for the detached for privacy but fine for us for one night.
