Only a couple of hours from Reykjavik but this place feels...
Only a couple of hours from Reykjavik but this place feels very much away from it all. The roads in and out aren't the easiest depending on the weather. We visited in early April and got stuck in snow (twice!) on the way in taking the northern road then feared getting stuck due to road closures and difficult driving conditions on the way out but we made it. Because of this we didn't get to see as much as we'd have liked. I loved the small-town vibe and charming Icelandic...
I loved the small-town vibe and charming Icelandic architecture located on an active harbour. Beautiful ocean views from the harbour-adjacent island walk! Enjoyed soaking at the local pool/hot pots, and happy to have a bakery, grocery store, and restaurants to choose from for meals. The breakfast - which was included - was good. They offered all day free tea, coffee and biscuits. In the evening they were happy for us to ‘picnic’ in their breakfast room. Check in was easy.
