This was our favorite stay while we were in Iceland. When we booked we didn't have many reviews to go off of. When we got there it exceeded our expectations. The staff was accommodating, our room didn't have knives to cut with and our host provided them right away. We had no trouble using anything, everything was clean. We even saw the northern lights from right where we parked the car. I will say the best part was the heated floors in the bathroom! Again I could not say enough amazing things about this place.

Fantastic hotel, great location and lovely staff. Very clean rooms with amazing views. Hot tub overlooking the lake was very relaxing..lovely breakfast too. An addition of tea making facilities in room and a channels on TV in room would have added to what was a perfect stay.

Beautiful hotel with lovely staff. Rooms were rather noisy and odd that they charge extra for the spa. Staff really were wonderful and it’s a lovely, independent hotel experience with bags of charm.

Check-in was easy, the man working the desk was very kind and welcoming. Our room was spotless and beds were comfortable. I would say the TV could do with an upgrade as we could only watch cable television on it. My partner and I both had a pint during the hotel’s happy hour which was very reasonable and the lady working the bar was also friendly and welcoming. Really nice facilities.
Setberg is located in Egilsstadir, 28 km from Hengifoss and 32 km from Gufufoss. Both free WiFi and parking on-site are available at the apartment free of charge.

I wish i have stayed another night. Room size is Quite spacious for 3 of us(asian size).Kitchen has Complete cooking facilities. Location is superb. It is on higher ground. (i saw the northern lights from here ). Heating is good( i am sure even during deep winter ). Parking is next to the terrace
A good location for a hassle-free holiday in Hallormsstaður, Mjóanes accommodation is a guest house surrounded by views of the lake.

Loved this place and our host.
Added bonus of a sauna and a hottub and some delicious homemade icelandic bread.
Perfect stop over when travelling the ring road and only 5 minutes from the majestic Hengifoss.
I do hope life brings us this way again.

The sewer smelled quite bad both in kitchen & bathrooms, but the overall cleanliness was great. It was a bit cramped with four people in one room, but it was nice and worked well for one night. Super good location.
