Really lovely staff. Very helpful. A couple of minor issues were quickly sorted out with the host via telephone. We enjoyed our stay. You will need a car to fully enjoy the area. Acquaviva Platani and Casteltermini aren't far if you have transport . If not like us, then expect a nice long walk 😂

We were moving from CTA to Palermo and needed a place to stay on the way.
Clean rooms, buffet breakfast, no problem with parking. It was quite cold and rainy- heating was working great.
We did have some problems with Google Maps/Apple Maps routing and circled around. it might be direction we came from. :)

A few minutes’ drive from Mussomeli so ideal if you can’t find suitable accommodation in town and have a car. Stunning panoramic views from the hotel terrace. Pet-friendly. Internet fine for work video calls (I specially requested a room with good internet and the owner was very accommodating). The room was basic but perfectly clean, large comfortable bed, extra pillows and blankets, fridge, toiletries, good-sized shower and plenty of hot water. More than enough free parking. Coffee/tea and fresh croissants (plus a few other prepackaged bakery items and yogurts) for breakfast from 8am. The pool is open 9am-1pm and the restaurant is open from 7:30pm and I didn’t use either.

The apartment has everything you could possibly wish for and even more: two balconies both with wonderful views, a very bright, spacious and comfortable living room (with cosy lamplights), a nice bed, good shower, fully equiped kitchen, laundry facilities etc. Lisa was such a wonderful host. The communication went excellent, she was so welcoming and made La portella such a nice to stay at.

The view was amazing! Sunrise was spectacular, mid morning the clouds clear and the views of rolling hills appear.
It’s also within walking distance of restaurants/bakeries, supermarkets and the castle. The sofa bed was incredibly comfortable. Its central location meant that the apartment is not in a tourist area as such and the car is absolutely necessary with an average of one hour to get to the tourist spots. Our hosts were lovely and made sure we had everything we needed 🙏🏻. Our speaking no Italian meant we had quite some laughs using the translation app!
Review already written. Recommended. Exceptional kind and helpful host. Lovely hilltown. Especially, pilgrim/walker accom for those doing the Magna via Francigena. Attention to detail by host very much appreciated ..... such as cloth airing/drying rack and pegs. Comfortable, peaceful place to spend a night or two. Good food options offered in the town and friendly locals.
