The location was excellent - we were able to walk to Valle del Templi (but note, it is a long downhill walk, and the return therefore is uphill). The room was large and had a sea view (although the sea is a long distance away). It was clean and well-appointed. We could open the windows with total privacy and no appreciable noise.
Colleverde Park Hotel overlooks the Valley of the Temples, and is a 15-minute walk from Agrigento’s famous archaeological site and 2 km from the city centre. WiFi is free.

This is a basic hotel which got the basics right, unlike some 4 star hotels we stayed at. There was good storage space with plenty of hangers and lots of drawers so we were able to store all our clothes and items without living out of our suitcase. Simple things like sockets at waist level so easy to access, large mirror in bedroom, superb central light so we could read, comfortable warm bed and a bonus, we could access an English speaking TV news channel. The receptionist gave us a detailed map of the town and also the Greek temple site, a printed bus timetable and lots of useful information. The hotel was very clean, and looked newly decorated. Our room was big and also very clean. Breakfast was a good cold buffet and staff were very friendly and helpful. It is also well situated, within easy walking distance of railway station and centre of town and also is just behind a beautiful tree lined boulevard overlooking the valley below. We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel and really enjoyed our stay here.

We used the low fare TUA local buses to San Leone beach, and Porto Empedocle, and Valley of Temples. We walked in the derelict, abandoned, dystopian vast Parco d' Adellorata, down below cathedral. Valley of Temples is downhill walk from town, with pavements.
Walked along beautiful beach between Porto Empedocle and Turkish Steps about 2 miles (beyond disused power station). Great swimming beaches, lovely sand. Facilities only at Turkish steps end.
Try the train to Agrigento Bassa station and see town from different angle!
There are many abandoned, crumbling buildings and many stray cats.
We are grassroots level travellers!

Agrigento is a pleasant town. In all fairness, we went there because is the town near the Valley of the Temples, moreover, our hotel, the Villa Athena resort is located about 500-600 feet from the Temples.

Loved it! The ruins are incredible! Got lost in them for hours and hours. Most memorable. The guidebooks were right....enter the park at the top, not at the bottom....makes for much easier walking!

Everything, comfy bed, pillows, hot free flowing shower, very modern and new. Breakfast was included and the host made sure everything was fresh even to the extent that her husband went to the bakery and bought fresh rolls etc every morning.
The host could not do enough for you. She went out of her way to explain everything.
If we could score a higher score we would.
The location was very close to the old city, and a 5 min drive to the valley of the temples.
Best place we have stayed in sicily.
Newly furnished to an exceptionally high standard. The bed was the most comfortable bed we have had from a booking.com stay and the quality of the bedding was top notch.
Kitchen facilities superb.
2 bathrooms so we had a bathroom each
Good location and very close to the station
Excellent restaurant just below the property which we would definitely recommend
Close to the town centre too
The host was the friendliest, most helpful , attentive host that we have ever had in Sicily.
Mario and his wife were excellent hosts. The family room was spacious with a high ceiling and comfortable beds. The breakfast, served by the enthusiastic Mario himself, was very copious, introducing a plethora of tastes. The location is great, just next to the main street, the Via Atenea. A private parking spot just in the vicinity. We enjoyed that side of Sicily a lot. Agrigento is worth the scenic drive from Palermo.
I don't often write a review, but if any place deserves an excellent review it is this place. Very friendly staff, very hospitable, beautiful surroundings. Breakfasts is one of the best I had on Sicily and the dinners were by far the best I had. Really, really good!
Beautiful, big, clean, cozy apartment in the center od Agrigento with All your need and more :) deffinetely the best od our stay in Sicily, we recommended IT to everyone.
