I liked the central location. Breakfast was very good with many choices. All the staff were friendly and helpful. We got the two bedroom apartment which was located in an adjoining building which also had several apartments where local residents lived so you definitely had that "locals vibe" and authentic.
Hotel Palio is located only 164 feet from the historic center of Asti, and its craft shops, and only 492 feet from the Central Railway Station.

The front desk guy saved me a parking space right in front of the hotel’s door with a cone. There were no parking spots anywhere else because of the farmer’s market. That’s customer service!!
Great breakfast and great restaurant right across the street.

Fantastic location. Free parking nearby. Room was a good size, but hotel, in general, very outdated. The front desk staff, namely Nacho, was so helpful and welcoming. I would stay there again just because of the service he provided...calling a restautrant to find us a reservation on a busy night...and giving us suggestions. He was wonderful!!! Also, really can't beat the location!

Great pool area, excellent restaurant, with modern cuisine, very friendly staff.
The hotel is well decorated, with clean lines and lots of good photography.
All in all probably one of the best small hotels I visited.

The host Lorenzo was so nice and informative. The place was big and very comfortable. I liked the extra touch of having, eggs, milk, salami, yogurt, water, fresh fruit and package goodies. Also you park the car in the courtyard and walk straight in. Was peaceful and safe! The location was next to old town and facilities are all around. Laundry mat, groceries and places to eat.

People (drivers included), in both towns and cities, are courteous and helpful even if Italian is not spoken.
Extensive road network although narrow in smaller towns.
Many tourist attractions, especially cultural, such as museums, art galleries. Vineyards abound in the region, where Ruché is the indigenous grape. Vineyards are welcoming however check pricing and book in advance.

A very friendly town with good restaurants and good quality shops. If you are self catering there is a fabulous supermarket in the centre of town, wine shops with wine tasting, deli's and cheese shops. We had only a few days there but we will return. We ate in the square where all the restaurants were good, they were full so best to book early.

Asti is an historic town in the heart of the famous Piedmonte wine region and is readily accessible to the surrounding area of vineyards, wineries, great wine tasting, castles, hilltop towns like La Morra and, Barola, Roman ruins, and amazing countryside. The Etruscans were here before the Romans and the area has so much history. Asti, Like Sienna has its Contradas and has the race in the Fall while Sienna has it in July. We were lucky enough to see the Contrada parade and flag throwing practice in the Plazza in preparation for the event.

I stayed one night on a journey through Europe.
I stayed one night on a journey through Europe. I'd expected somewhere basic - but this place was Fawlty Towers made flesh. There was no heating in the room, at a time of year when the outside temperature was -5'c. The corridors & stairwells were pitch-black, as the sensors for the lights were ineffective, so I navigated my way around using the torch from my phone. When I went down to reception in the morning, the whole area was full of piles of broken glass, shards of crockery & the smashed remains of a grandfather clock - I've no idea why (break-in? fight between guests?). None of the staff who were present in the morning could speak any English. Breakfast was a microwaved croissant & slice of cake, a glass of juice & a cup of instant coffee.

We have stayed at the hotel 5 times over the years. The staff in this hotel are exceptional, always going the extra mile with service and to make you feel welcome. Anna makes fabulous omelettes too and has a fantastic sense of humour. Wouldn’t change a thing about this hotel and their service
The apartment is located in the heart of old Asti within walking distance from everything. The apartment had every convenience that a normal apartment has, we washed laundry and dried it the Italian way on the balcony. The owners were truly friendly and helpful.
The house it's really cozy and have a cool style, very comfortable, the best house I've been in different house in Asti but this one is the best love it I'll be back👌
