Our stay at Costa di Maggio in Fontecchio was absolutely amazing! This beautifully restored stone building seamlessly blends historic charm with modern comforts, offering a truly unique and authentic experience. Our room was both cozy and elegantly designed, showcasing the meticulous attention to detail that went into the restoration. One of the highlights of our visit was the exceptional six-course dinner—an absolute feast! Each dish was a masterful showcase of local Abruzzese flavors, made with fresh, high-quality ingredients and presented with care. It felt like dining at a Michelin-starred restaurant, but with the warmth of a family gathering. Fontecchio itself is a hidden medieval gem, with narrow cobblestone pathways winding between ancient stone buildings. The entire town has an enchanting, almost timeless feel. The views from Costa di Maggio were nothing short of spectacular—rolling hills, lush greenery, and the stunning backdrop of the mountains. A special mention goes to the proprietor, who was incredibly kind, welcoming, and extremely helpful throughout our stay. They spoke perfect English, making our visit smooth and enjoyable, and were always ready with great recommendations and insights about the area. Their warmth and hospitality made our experience truly unforgettable. We highly recommend Costa di Maggio to anyone looking for a peaceful, authentic, and luxurious stay in one of Italy’s most charming villages. Gabriella was the most incredible host, and the accommodations were perfect. Her home is absolutely beautiful and only a short walk into the historic areas of Fontecchio. She made the most delicious breakfast spread each morning and was so kind. Even though we did not speak Italian, we were able to have pleasant conversations through Google Translate with her. Of all the places we’ve stayed throughout our trip in Europe, her’s is by far our favorite. Thank you so much for making our trip to Fontecchio so incredible!

We loved the location, the view, and the fact that the hotel was open during low season. We liked our balcony and our breakfast in-room. The hotel is very well equipped for either summer or winter sports visits, with restaurant, pool, and different game rooms. Our king size bedroom and furniture were comfortable and with good use of the existing space for sport gear and clothing.
