We stayed at Il Rifugio for 5 nights and had a fantastic time touring the region of Salento. The accommodation is situated centrally so we could get to all the major cities and beaches in under 30minutes.
Filomena was a fantastic hostess gave us great suggestions on where to go. She spoke great English so it was really interesting hearing about her life and how she ended up in Puglia and other Puglian traditions.
We had lunch at her restaurant and it was really amazing - totally recommend staying or at least eating here.

A little garden paradise in the countryside near Lecce. Roberto has created a beautiful place to relax. We felt very welcome and enjoyed our 4 day stay at la Chiesura. It's perfect for relaxing and enjoying the pool, perfect for children. The garden is the most amazing place with beautiful plants, full of cute lizards, birds and two very friendly cats. There is a football pitch, a tennis/basketball court and a boccia/boules area. We enjoyed the outdoor kitchen/BBQ area. Galugnano village is within walking distance with a couple of bars and a café but we preferred to drive into Lecce for food (15min drive).

Good location in city centre, few minutes to the main square. Overall the hotel looks better in the reality than on the photos. Self check in after working hours was not problem.

Spacious, lovely room equipped with everything one could require. The breakfast room was lovely too and offered a super buffet. I walked downtown as I love walking and photographing. I was informed about AirSpace which offered an excellent transfer from the airport very late at night. I was pleased to see my name on a paper as soon as I exited from Security and Customs and to be driven to the hotel on a shared basis at a fraction of the cost of the hotel shuttle. Had I arrived earlier I could have taken a local bus for a nominal cost. When I forgot my journal at a local shop the hotel driver retrieved it for me free of charge.
