Levanto is a true treasure.
Levanto is a true treasure. A perfect synthesis of what Liguria is. Its natural beauties, its little bay has nothing to less than the nearby 5 Terre. Super convenient to Cinque Terre towns via the train. The top restaurants in town are really good, but reservations a day or two in advance are a must. Nothing seemed to be too fancy, but still nice and very comfortable. Rent a bike, the bike ride up the coast is great: flat and easy through the old railroad tunnels. Lovely town with long beach promenade.
Lovely town with long beach promenade. Not as busy as Cinque Terre villages so nice to return to after visiting them. Large beach. Ideal base for Cinque Terre as all villages are a few minutes by train and Levanto is also on direct line to major cities. Marco was around to greet us at the door and was extremely helpful in explaining the city and its points of interest to us. In addition, free bicycles were available and that allowed us to cycle to the next town and explore Levanto as well. Really clean too and as well as our room being spacious and well equipped, there were thoughtful little touches like a table being reserved at a busy local restaurant on our first night. Free parking in front of the hotel. Shuttle service to Levanto town every morning and evening which works perfectly. Good breakfast every morning.
