The staff at this hotel were wonderful. They helped us get our car parked, made lunch reservations and walked us part way to our dinner location. The apertivo and breakfast were also great. After staying in houses/apartments for most of our trip, we greatly appreciated the luxuries of a nice hotel - the room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, and a big shower!

We went to L'antica Pizzeria da Michele and were impressed with the taste of their pizzas and nice service. This is the place we really reccomend! We were out of season, so the place was slightly crowded, but no waiting time.

I spent three nights at two different addresses.
I spent three nights at two different addresses. That was the length of the trip in q. 2. I've been a few times before.
It's a fine city, with a lot of impressive buildings (most obviously the cathedral and the chimney in Via della Manifattura dei Tabacchi) and modern facilities to match. Not overrun by traffic in the centre, in fact surprisingly quiet in the evening for a city of its size.

My first time in Modena. I really enjoyed. It’s small enough that you can walk to every attraction. Not too full of Tourists as some other italian cities. It offers great food, opportunities for shopping and lovely historical center.

Good thing was that there were very few tourists there , so a more authentic city to visit . However , it did feel a bit flat in the evenings. Amazingly, people were not out drinking Aperol Spritz around 6.00 pm as they were in Parma . Also , seemed so quiet and lacking in atmosphere by comparison . Essential to book a table in restaurants otherwise you won’t get in - similar to Parma .

I used to live in Modena, now I come back mainly for family reasons.
I would not visit in the middle of August, as it is way too hot and mostly empty, this time I had to come to see my mum in hospital.
Lots of things to see, and to taste, friendly people and a very nice Cathedral, plus if you like fast cars, and opera this is the place for you.

Beautiful, clean city populated with racist drunks.
Beautiful, clean city populated with racist drunks. Taxi drivers intentionally ignored us until I threatened to call the city. We were discriminated against and turned away from multiple bars and a restaurant. One said that it was a bar only for college students (no mention of this on the website), another said they were closed (it was 9pm and they just let three Italian girls in), the restaurant straight up told us that “white girls” have a bad time there in a very threatening manner. The ONLY reason to come here is Trampos Jewelry. They have the most beautiful pieces of silver and gold, they even custom made a matching bracelet for my husband! Stay in Bologna, come shopping then gtfo.

The host was waiting for us when we arrived. He kindly explained to us what we needed to know to make our stay as comfortable as possible, including tips about where to park the car, where to eat, what to visit... The apartment simply had everything we needed and more, very well maintained, clean, spacious, and located in the center of Modena. Possibly the best apartment I've ever been to in Italy.
Very clean, comfortable room. Very quiet location (though need to drive into the centre of Modena). On-site parking included. Very nice and friendly host. One of the best breakfasts we have had in Italy - better than most 5* hotels - all home-cooked, including the delicious cakes. Worth staying just for the breakfast!
Great location and central. I like the fact that parking are included as its a real issue in Italy. The place is easy to find and the directions are great. The bathroom is spacious. The host is really nice and gives great assistance.
Fabulous old hotel just outside Modena. Had a fantastic meal at the Patriarca restaurant, close by (walking distance). Very friendly staff, super spread at breakfast. Great free parking on premises.
