The staff were lovely. We had a lovely view but felt quite isolated. We would have been disappointed if we hadn't had the car.

Residential quiet location. Plenty of space in the flat, with really all we needed and beyond. Even the bathroom had so many toiletries you could use! Very helpful when travelling and you cannot carry everything. Hosts welcomed us with homemade cake and savoury pastry and plenty of biscuits and other snacks, coffees and teas. I would definitely recommend the hosts, their care and attention to details. Shame we only stay there for one night! Would love to be back!

Exceptional B&B in classic Italian style villa surrounded by fruit-/olive trees at peaceful countryside estate not far from Ortona. The whole place is designed & finished with taste for detail... not too much but just perfect, had a room with balcony styled windows, all very clean, delicious breakfast with homegrown fruit, jams & cake, a shaded car park under solar paneled structure right there.
And most of all, a lovely couple as hosts who run the estate with quiet passion & true heart for their home & guests. I very much enjoyed my stay, unfortunately only for one night as I was on my tour through Abruzzo. Would happily book again if I were close to Ortona area... next time for more than a night.
A true rated 10 in my books.

Once you get to the town, it is lovely and very accessible on foot. The cliff-top promenade is beautiful, especially in sunshine or in the early evening by lamp light. Consider visiting the town cemetery, with its very moving memorial to the 1,314 Ortona residents who died as German and mainly Canadian troops battled in vicious house-to-house fighting in December 1943 during World War II. Histories only discuss the military dead and injured. More than 75 percent of the town had to be rebuilt after soldiers on both sides destroyed homes and buildings either to create barriers or to battle their enemy. But it was the Ortona townspeople who had to pick up the pieces.
Take some time to locate the old Ortona Zoo, whose former animal cages are now used by artists as workshops. And be sure to bring some cat food for the half dozen or so very friendly cats who share the area with the artists. The old zoo is located along the pedestrian foot path about 15 feet below the northerly end of the cliff promenade.

The city itself is pretty and have a nice view of the port, but lacks attractions. People are weird and regard themselves too high, be prepared to be snubbed by waiters and attendants. There are beaches nearby, which require some hiking to get to. Aside from that, it's just an ordinary small Italian town with nothing special to show for.

Ortona has beautiful views on the coastline of Abruzzo, especially from the castle. There is also a nice seaside promenade. Shopping facilities and restaurants are ample, and yet it is not yet pestered with mass tourism, but offers the traveller an opportunity to enjoy real Italy.

The drive along the coast around Ortona is stunningly beautiful. Its beautiful blue sea and golden sands are so lovely. The sea itself is shallow and great for bathing and small children. Seafood is good and plentiful and the restaurants on the coast and in the town of Ortona itself are varied and good value. We always stop at Ortona on our way down the Via Adriatica on our way south to visit family in Puglia. Of course the Trabochi (wooden fishing platforms on stilts) are something to see and visit.

Nice apartment in very good location in city center of Ortona - partial seaview and balcony. Perfect for two people.
Ortona is a beautiful city in very nice area in Abruzzo - there is almost everything within short distance: sea, long beaches, mountains, nice small towns and villages, bigger cities, culture and a lot of history....
The apartment was brand new, decorated beautifully. Very central, just 5 min walk to old town.
The host was very helpful and helped us every time we needed anything. She also provided us with tons of helpful information for the local area, and recommendations for the best restaurants. Really enjoyed our stay.
Beautiful view from our rooms terrace. Loved the mix of old and new and how the old tour was incorporated. Gardens lovely and able to have breakfast outside. A small family run hotel.
This was a very good place to overnight. Luisa recommended a local restaurant where we had our best meal in 10 days in Italy! Her place is very clean and well organized
