Hotel Pisacane overlooks the Gulf of Policastro in Sapri city center. Set in an elegant building from the 1800s, it features a relaxing terrace with sea views.

This was the largest hotel we stayed in in Italy, and it was probably only 20 rooms. Domenici is the owner. He is very hands on and almost a cliche' of the classic European conscientious hotelier. Fantastic experience! The location might be the best is this wonderful seaside town. 1 minute walk across the street to the beach. Lots of restaurants and coffee spots nearby. Quiet location. Big highlight for us was the electric bikes we rented from him at a very reasonable rate that allowed up to explore up and down the coast for nearly 4 hours.
Sapri was our favorite discovery of our entire trip. It was everything we had been looking for in an Italian seaside resort. We will never go back to Posiatano or Amalfi, even if you paid us, but Sapri is the secret gem we would seek out again. End of September there are no crowds, lots of things were still open, empty beaches, incredibly picturesque, not very expensive. The town is situated next to 3 national parks, so tons of hiking opportunities if you are staying more than a couple of nights. The town is very walkable, no huge hills. Quintessential quaint!

Amenities, location, breakfast, wonderful hosts. We had a nicely equipped studio apartment 5 minutes from the beach. Good selection of restaurants. A laundromat and supermarket with deli were a few steps away. Easy walk to train station.

Highlight discovery of our souther Italy adventure.
Sapri is the exact thing we had hoped to find in an Italian seaside resoin north rt town. We could get out of Positano, Amalifi or Sorrento quick enough while we started to look at real estate prices for month long rentals here.
Easy access from Naples by train. 25 kilometers from main north/south autostrade. Close to everything but just far enough away.

It has the character of a small seaside town that is not overwhelmed by tourists, but is in a good location at the head of the cost road heading South into Basilicata and Calabria. It is not pedestrianised, but is completely walkable. There are quite a few restaurants offering typical local food.

Sapri is a stunning coastal town.
Sapri is a stunning coastal town. Well preserved with respect for the environment. The bay is quite extraordinary. It’s a manageable town, easy to negotiate and there are lovely bars and restaurants. Local people use the town well and it’s not only a tourist destination. A place to relax in. We visited a few lovely bars in the seafront and went to Fratimo Pizza restaurant. It’s a small restaurant just behind the seafront. It’s local and we were so happy to witness an impromptu musical jam session. Two acoustic guitars and a man with a wonderful plaintive voice. We were lucky. It’s worth getting off the beaten track.

Sapri felt like a real not a touristy site.
Sapri felt like a real not a touristy site. We stayed there for one night but had the beast dinner at local restaurant with the best food and then a walk by the seafront walk amidst locals. Great ice cream!

I enjoyed my stay very much. The apartment was like expected from the pictures. It was very clean and well equipped and with a huge, nice terrace. It is located in a quiet area but also in walking distance to city and beach. The host is very friendly and helpfully. I made a stop in Sapri for hiking amazing Sentiero "Apprezzami L'Asino“ but for beach it is also beautiful there I think.
This is a lovely hotel in stunning Sapri. The hotel is spacious, comfortable and we had a wonderful view of the sea. The staff are extremely helpful, kind and very efficient. We were on a stop off before heading off to Rome - we really wish that we had a week in Sapri. A place to relax and unwind.
