The town is lovely - it was VERY quiet when we went (early June) and the pensione is off the main square down a very short walkway/alley full of flowers. Luckily we found legal parking just outside the wall of the town so we didn't have far to walk to get our stuff into the room.

Beatiful place with great swimming pool in the perfect garden. Sorrundings are very quite. 2 house in the area but the distance between them is quite large.

The staff were so friendly and accommodating. The room that we had was bright and airy and opened onto a private terrace which was perfect for relaxing. The food, service and ambiance in the restaurant was perfect with lovely views out over the surrounding countryside. There was a relaxed room for breakfast with a variety of foods available on the self serve buffet.
The road leading to the property is steep and narrow, so it is exceptionally peaceful.
The spa was small and relaxed with a lovely atmosphere.
This unique hotel is located within the Fortezza Orsini di Sorano fortress, dating back to the 11th century.

What can I say we had a fabulous time at Hotel Della Fortezza. All our communication with the hotel prior to our visit was clear and friendly. Upon arrival we were greeted with kindness. The view of the countryside from our room was fabulous, better than anticipated. The bedroom was of a good size and the bed was so comfortable. I loved the blinds and overslept due to the lack of light :) Breakfast was great value, all the food was delicious. The staff were so kind and friendly and so knowledgeable about their fabulous wine and beer - we will be back.
Lovely owner Stefania, very good breakfasts, home atmosphere, wonderful home full of art, books and surprising interiors. The countryside is lovely, localization close to Sovana and Pitigliano is a great asset!
Small hotel resort in a magic little town Sovana. I loved their cosmetics with unique smell (you can buy it at the reception desk) and the swimming pool and olive grove!
