A really marvellous place situated inbetween woods of cork-oaks.
The garden is unique, quiet and peaceful.
The dinner of local dishes served for a price of 40 € was very tasty - bring some hunger, it is a whole lot.
Personnel was very kind.

Immersed in the green of Gallura, the Pausania Inn is 30 km away from the renowned white sandy beaches of Northern Sardinia. It offers an outdoor swimming pool, breakfast buffet, and a restaurant.

Enjoyed a typical Italian breakfast with delicious cakes, croissants, and other sweet treats. However, don't expect a continental spread with tomatoes, salad, cheeses, and sausages this is Italy, after all! The only downside was the coffee machine, which was disappointingly weak and often out of milk. Thankfully, the coffee at the bar was excellent. One of the best Italian hotels we've stayed at! The location is lovely peaceful, clean, and free from pollution. It's off the main tourist paths but close enough to reach amazing trails and beaches within an hour by car. The hotel is spotless, with daily service, and offers fantastic value for money.

It was a really nice stay in rustic and quiet surroundings. The room entrance was directly from the garden. Very friendly and helpful hostess. The dinner and breakfast was remarkable with typical local food and fruits from the garden.

Location was fantastic, right in the middle of town overlooking a cute, small piazza. The room was in the back of the apartment like set up, which was spotless, and very comfortable with a great mattress.
The common area with full sized fridge, kitchen, dining table and two balconies looking down two different streets was a real highlight. We were fortunate to have the entire place to ourselves, which made the stay even better.
Our hostess was wonderful also, making sure we understood everything we needed to.

The host is very sweet and the bed was super comfortable! Everything was very clean, swimming pool is great and many cozy shade places to sit and enjoy the day
Tempio sits on a hilltop overlooking the granite peaks...
Tempio sits on a hilltop overlooking the granite peaks behind Aggius in the west and Monte Limbara to the SE; it is a mix of old and new, the core characterised by a warren of small narrow streets hemmed in by granite-built old-style houses, many with balconies. The lanes are studded with bars and small restaurants and offer some coolness to escape the summer sun. The cobbles would be a challenge to high heels, but the core is quite small and walkable easily.
Local food is really good, from pizza (Il Trenino), to light lunches (Living) and the more traditional Sardinian dishes (Trattoria La Gallurese - order the snails/lumache); bars are cheap and service is mostly great (Living, New Chopin, Caffe' de Piazza), although one or two places are glacially slow (Bar de Museum - but fantastic pasta!).
It seems a very happy town and the locals that somehow understood my broken Italian were welcoming and many spoke some English to help me out.
There are numerous small and large parks affording shade and tranquility and to outer this, there is a bar - Risen - that caters for the young and plays plenty of party music, which was fun, but I didn't last until the advertised 4am closure...
We had originally booked into the Pausania Inn, but left after a night and booked into the New Petit Hotel: a friendly place with smallish rooms but with great views over Aggius and just on the edge of the old town, so perfectly located for accessing the town without a 1.75km walk from the other hotel.

Tempio has an attractive old town.
Tempio has an attractive old town. There was a music festival the night we were there, so it was hard to find a table in a restaurant and very loud.
We particularly liked the agriturismo style restaurant next to the Nuraghi Maiori, about 2km North of town. The pipistrelle bats in the Nuraghe had just had babies.
Tempio stays cooler than the rest of Sardinia so it’s good place to go in a heat wave.

A fascinating historic town away from the more popular...
A fascinating historic town away from the more popular beaches and resorts.
With quaint streets and shops it has the feel of a place yet to be spoilt by tourists.
Pedestrianised areas allow you to focus on the history as you walk the streets and sample the many little bars and restaurants.
Probably not a place to stay if you are looking for night clubs and discos, but more of a traditional Sardinian town.

The B&B is in a peaceful location with a splendid open view of the town of Tempio Pausania. My host and her friend Cecilia were delightfully welcoming and friendly. They also understood some English, which was a great help. I found my double room for two nights very comfortable, pleasantly appointed, and spotlessly clean,. My "sweet" Italian breakfast, whilst modest by British standards, was quite nice, with some welcome ingredients such as orange juice, fresh toasted bread, cakes and (on my second day) crepes.
The staff at the hotel are incredibly helpful and friendly, making our stay very enjoyable. Although the hotel is situated on the outskirts of town, it is still easily accessible. The location offers stunning, natural mountain views that are truly breathtaking. Breakfast is included in the room rate, and it was quite satisfying. There is a parking space within the hotel. Overall, the room offers excellent value for the price
Beautiful property in the middle of nature with lots of hiking trails to enjoy. Very clean hotel, good breakfast and fantastic staff! They are so kind, and helpful.
The music (lounge like) on the terrace bothered us on our first night as we came for peace & quiet. We mentioned it to the staff who was exceptional and fixed it for us. The rest of the stay was so peaceful!
Squeaky clean (if I had to choose one hotel floor to eat from, this would be the one) - new and nice interior- restaurant downstairs one of the highest rated in Tempio (TripAdvisor)
