Alle Due Palme is a family-run hotel located a 5-minute drive from the Udine Viale Mons Nogara exit of the orbital road, and 0.9 mi from the historic center.

The location of the hotel is good, less than a 10-minute walk to the center. The room is clean, tidy and has everything you need in the room and bathroom. Breakfast is good, in the afternoon there is a restaurant with good food in the same place. The pizzas are fantastic. The staff is friendly, especially Letica, who was always on hand to explain everything we needed. Free public parking is close to the hotel and it is not difficult to find a safe place for the car. Palmanove and Cividale are close by and are worth a visit when staying in Udine.

FAQs about hotels in Udine

Historic Friulian Capital

Quaint and provincial Udine is one of those typical Italian towns grown for centuries under the influences of different cultures. It is also the centre of the Friuli area, long celebrated for the quality of its produce, including the ‘San Daniele’ ham, ‘Friuli DOC’ wine, and ‘Montasio’ cheese. Nonetheless, it also represents a gateway to the eastern Alps.

The area has been inhabited since the Neolithic age, and its foundation and name origin is not clear to historians. First mentioned in Latin records as Udene in 983, it was long under Venetian rule. The mix of Venetian, Renaissance, Baroque, and Austrian influences gives its Old Town a picturesque atmosphere, and offers some of the best hotels and B&B’s in Udine.

It lies on a plain in the middle of the Italian Region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, near the Adriatic Sea, the Alps and Slovenia, making it an ideal base to explore the area. In fact, Udine and its surroundings offer a wide variety of hotels, ranging from guest houses and rural ‘agriturismi’ to luxury resorts.

Must-see sites include the panoramic Udine Castle, the central Piazza Liberta', the Piazza San Giacomo, and its mid-13th century Cathedral.

The local railway station offers direct links to Venice and Trieste. Check out the Udine accommodation deals on Booking.com before travelling.

The historic centre of Udine is about 5 minutes walk from the Underground car park at Piazza 1 Maggie - which can be highly recommended (spacious, cheap and very modern. Udine is off the tourism track and all the more better for it. Attractive centre, with plenty of arcades and many fashion boutiques. A good reflection of Italian life style.

Beautiful and well maintained old town. Guided tours start at 10 am. on saturdays, i.e. on weekdays you can take an audioguide from the tourist information office. (Of course you can also book a private tour from a private guide).

The historic centre of Udine has lots of arcades, beautiful buildings and fashion shops, restaurants, cafes etc. There is a superb newish underground car park at Piazza 1 Maggio, which has large well lit and marked spaces and costs an incredible 70 cents per hour! Can also recommend a visit to the nearby village/town of Cividale a very picturesque place.

It is quite a vibrant city considering its moderate size.

It is quite a vibrant city considering its moderate size. It offers a really exiting nigh atmosphere with various culinary options. Prices are not low but are acceptable. The city is friendly and safe with a good infrastructure and well developed public transport. It is quite a good option to get acquainted with the true Italy but not the touristic one.

Superb restaurants, the general atmosphere of the city, hospitality of the local people. If you visit you must check Hostaria Alla Tavernetta and Ristorante Carmagnola. Moving around the city was pretty easy using the maps, the two main squares and the castle are all at the same place. A lot of stores in the city center. Next time I go to Udine I will most likely get an apartment instead of the hotel. Ambassador Palace hotel was quite expensive compared to apartments, the hotel was OK, but quite old and outdated, and definitely didnt seem like a good value for money, on top of that we paid parking 14 EUR/day and breakfast 20 EUR/day for two of us. We could have parked in the city center for about the same amount and have any breakfast we wanted in restaurants around the city center for the same amount, with the option to choose a variety of delicious meals instead of the bland hotel breakfast.

We only came to Udine because we missed our bus to elsewhere. What a pleasant surprise! We arrived during a festival celebrating their regions foods. We had the most delicious meal. The old part of town is beautiful especially around the town square. Would have liked to explore more of Udine but did not have the time.

Great apartment at Ilaria's, ideally located in the historical heart of Udine. Little things like coffee, great tea or olive oil are a nice addition :) A great idea is two versions of pillows in the bedroom: one normal and the other special, thermoplastic for people with problems, thank you very much! Very comfortable large bed. Ilaria welcomed us nicely, also showed us another apartment of hers and told us where it is worth drinking coffee and eating in Udine :) Thank you Ilaria for a great stay and we will definitely come back!

    - Chiara was extremely helpful during the check-in, a real lovely person and amazing staff. - They provide you with cold, filtered water and water bottle, even though the tap water is good in Udine. - The breakfast is exceptional. They have sustainable boxes where they put the food you choose the night before. Everything is delicious, local and seasonal food. The breakfast is the highlight of the stay.

Well situated hotel for visiting Udine. Easy to find and located just off the main road coming from the north into Udine. Loads of car parking. Comfortable rooms with good air-conditioning. Delicious buffet breakfast. Welcoming staff were very helpful. The rooms were made up each time we returned and washing was returned promptly. Check-in and check-out was easy.

Good place to walk Udine old town, easy to park a car outside hotel. The hotel is older, little outdated. The staff is very friendly & helpful. The restaurant has very good food, although the interior is very specific and busy with one thousand items.

Our favorite hotel in Udine! It is close to old town but you can take your dinner in Tiki-Taka bar across the street. There is also a good Gelateria downstairs. Breakfast is always good and fresh there!
