We choose the hotel to be close to the city centre and more importantly the train station to get the airport shuttle early in the morning. Thursday room had everything we expected and was a reasonable size.

A darling of Shakespeare, beautiful Verona is the literary home of Romeo and Juliet. The medieval families of Montague and Capulet immortalised in the tragic play did actually exist and some buildings relating to the Montagues are still present.
Sorry to disappoint, but the place purporting to have been Juliet's house in Verona was not actually where she lived. However, it’s still worth suspending reality for a while and stepping out onto the balcony to see if Romeo turns up.
Another of the must-see Verona sights is the Arena, a largely intact Roman amphitheatre which is now the spectacular setting for outdoor summer operas. Smaller Roman relics include the stone bridge that crosses the river by the Roman theatre whose remains are partly beneath a house.
The city’s narrow streets house many cafes and restaurants which offer cheaper fare than the touristy ones by the Arena, although admittedly the views are less impressive. Life in Verona is laidback and elegant, so expect to see some well-heeled Italians on a post-dinner passeggiata.
Verona Airport is a little out of town, so you’ll need to take a bus to get to your Verona hotel, apartment or B&B. Book with Booking.com for the best choice.

The city is gearing up to host the Winter Olympics which meant that a visit to the arena was not worth it as you literally just walked in and no further, even the people on the entrance were apologising before you enter.
Loads of school trips whilst we were there.
But we still enjoyed our visit and wished we had stayed longer.

Quaint city which is a refreshing change from the heavy tourism and commercial push of larger cities. It has history, provides culture, mix of nice restaurants but also a pace that enables you to gear down and relax.

Nice city, very clean city center, has its own personality.
Nice city, very clean city center, has its own personality. We liked all the places, but were a beat disappointed by the tourists "caught" on Juliette statue. It looks somehow inappropriate the way people behave, even there is this strange tradition to touch Juliette's breast for luck in love. Out of this, there is a very nice Giardini Giusti, nice bridges, go for a sunset and an Aperol Spritz on the Castel San Pietro hill. And, for sure, take a bus and go visit Lago di Garda for a day. Take a lunch at Locanda 4 Couoci. Drink and Amarone and a Vapolicella wine. And your stay will be unforgettable.

After Florence, Verona felt much more sedate - but in a good way! It doesn’t seem to matter where you walked - there was always something to see. Everyone was extremely friendly and seemed happy to welcome tourists. This was my second visit to the city (the first was back in 2013) and all I can say is I won’t leave it as long to go back again…

Very nice and comfortable hotel in a quiet area just outside the city wals. Walking distance to the town centre. Free parking in a quiet and safe street just outside the hotel. Polite, knowledgable, efficient, and friendly staff. Fast check in and out.
Spacious rooms with nice, new bathroom. Comfortable bads!
Good breakfast.
It's cheaper than many other hotels in Verona, jet perfect for exploring the city!
Everything about this apartment is exceptional! The location could not have been better! The apartment itself was beautiful, spacious and very clean. Our amazing host Elisa made everything so easy! The apartment is definitely the standard of a 5 star hotel. We were so happy we chose to stay here and have recommended it to all our friends that are planning a visit to Verona.
Extremely clean, comfortable and beautiful room! Delicious breakfast. Super polite and helpful staff (we checked in at 1am with a kid and a dog and the staff went above and beyond to e sure we were well accommodated). Awesome shower pressure, new pillows and mattress and very quiet - great sleep! Honestly one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in Italy over the past years.
Hotel Torcolo is a 2 star hotel with 4 star service. The location is perfect, the staff are excellent, we felt at home, they were very helpful and we really enjoyed our stay. The restaurant is also superb, one of the best meals we’ve had anywhere in Italy. Hotel Torcolo will be our first choice when we return to Verona. Big thank you to Catrina and all the staff.
The staff were so friendly and helpful. The location of hotel in a wide leafy street was perfect in terms of Verona train station ( 10 mins walk), old town( 10 mins walk) , airport 15 minutes by car or airlink bus ( only 7 euro each and at train station). Beds very comfortable and room big ( adult and two tall teens ), good selection at breakfast and lots of it.
