Parking in the garage was easy and right next to the hotel entrance. The hotel is in the ZTL area, but your car plate number is exempt from the police camera system after you check in at the reception. Staff was very kind :-)

Located in Volterra's historic centre, Albergo Etruria is just 100 metres from the Piazza dei Priori and Roman theatre. Rooms have free Wi-Fi and the gardens have views over the town.

Very good instructions on how to reach the hotel and where to park (and even more importantly where not to park). The room was spacious and quiet with a decent sized shower that worked well. Centrally located with easy walking around town. The terrace is lovely.

Hotel Villa Porta All' Arco is located in Volterra, just 5 minutes' walk from the central square of Piazza dei Priori and 250 metres from the ancient city walls.

Proximity to town was very comfortable and the villa itself is stunning. The best part of the stay, however, was the friendliness and kindness of the hosts. Brilliant

Beautiful, but truly 4 roads to roam.

Beautiful, but truly 4 roads to roam. Unless it’s operationally better, I wouldn’t sleep there. Perhaps because of the time of year (end Jan), but we struggled to find an open place for dinner even. Everything was quite at night, and much better by day but we had already seen most of the town by then.

Beautiful Medieval town with excellent restaurants and shops. The Etruscan and Roman museum and ruins are fabulous. Don’t miss the MWF walking tour of the town. One of the most interesting, and least crowded and touristy, towns in Tuscany.

Volterra was a wonderful city to visit--lots of historical sites and museums, well-kept central area, and many great shops and restaurants to choose from. My major disappointment though was that many of the historical sites, such as the Etruscan Acropolis and the Roman Theatre and the Palazzo dei Priori were extremely underwhelming. The outside exhibits were closed off, apparently for repairs but it didn't look like they were ever going to get it fixed, so you barely got to see the monuments (and the price, without the Volterra Card, is still very, very high). Some of the museums had very limited exhibits and rooms, especially Palazzo dei Priori and the Alabaster Museum (do NOT waste your money on this). There is great potential, but sadly, only the Etruscan Museum and Palazzo Viti met my expectations for historical value. The alabaster shops and craft goods were abundant though and spectacular!

Volterra is a stunning historic Tuscan town set on a hill. Plenty or restaurants, shops and bars. In august they have a medieval festival that you should time your visit to see, as its really something.

A beautiful area to visit in the hills with lovely views and sunsets. Historic area with a cathedral not to be missed. Many restaurants with good quality food some cater for gluten free pasta etc. we preferred it to the popular San Gimignano

I spent three days in Volterra and thoroughly enjoyed everything (museums, views, good food, and good wine), but due to work obligations, I had to limit the things I could visit. Volterra has so much to offer; I encourage everyone to visit it with respect and admiration.

We had a wonderful time staying at this family run hotel. The hotel is situated about a twenty minute walk below volterra, meaning it is very peaceful with a lovely outlook over hills of Tuscany. The rooms are a good size and well soundproofed. Parking is plentiful and spacious. Finally the breakfast is amazing, the choices were up there with many top end hotels we have stayed in. The home made cakes, required much willpower not to over indulge. We hope to be able to come back some day.

The hotel is a traditional tuscany house. The furniture is a bit old in the rooms in the front, but it has it’ s charm. The pool is very big and the water is clean. The restaurant is good, but the waitress are a bit slow and they forget a lot, but I got over it because I saw they are very young. Instead, the reception stuff is very professional. Mr Silvano made everything he could so we can have a good stay. Thank you!

The house is a typical Tuscan villa in the countryside near Volterra. Our room was nice and quiet. The breakfast is delicious with a variety of homemade cakes and savoury options like eggs and ham. We had dinner one evening and it was really good, probably the best we had on our holiday. The family who runs the agriturismo is very friendly and good chefs

This traditional stone house was lovely & had a cute balcony off the 1st floor. 3 bathrooms were good for our group of 7 & the view from the beautiful pool was exceptional! Volterra was not far away & San Gimignano a little further but worth the drive. We went twice!

The staff was really responsive and kind. Hotel’s location is really good 20-25mins drive from central touristic villages and historic sites. There is a pool where you can cool off while watching amazing Tuscany valley.
