La Locanda, Volterra, The hotel was easy to find and close to two pay parking lots. The staff was friendly and helpful! Our room had a comfy bed, large bathroom with a big towel warming rack.
We felt very welcome and enjoyed our stay in such comfortable surroundings.
The breakfast room was nicely appointed and breakfast options included hard boiled eggs, a good selection of sweet and savory items and coffee made to order.
We throughly enjoyed the updated Guarnacci Museum full of Etruscan treasures!

The hotel is in the heart of one of Tuscany’s most beautiful and interesting city. I loved the contrast between the historic outdoors and the modern and super efficient indoor of the hotel. A very clean, comfortable and quiet hotel.

The room was clean and comfortable, the staff was very kind and helpful. The breakfast was also great. Altough we forgot to tell the contact person in advance that my wife is vegan, they did their very best to improvise and provide her with a variety of options for breakfast. They put a real effort in it, which we really appreciate.

Beautiful, but truly 4 roads to roam. Unless it’s operationally better, I wouldn’t sleep there. Perhaps because of the time of year (end Jan), but we struggled to find an open place for dinner even. Everything was quite at night, and much better by day but we had already seen most of the town by then.

Beautiful Medieval town with excellent restaurants and shops. The Etruscan and Roman museum and ruins are fabulous. Don’t miss the MWF walking tour of the town. One of the most interesting, and least crowded and touristy, towns in Tuscany.

Volterra was a wonderful city to visit--lots of historical sites and museums, well-kept central area, and many great shops and restaurants to choose from. My major disappointment though was that many of the historical sites, such as the Etruscan Acropolis and the Roman Theatre and the Palazzo dei Priori were extremely underwhelming. The outside exhibits were closed off, apparently for repairs but it didn't look like they were ever going to get it fixed, so you barely got to see the monuments (and the price, without the Volterra Card, is still very, very high). Some of the museums had very limited exhibits and rooms, especially Palazzo dei Priori and the Alabaster Museum (do NOT waste your money on this). There is great potential, but sadly, only the Etruscan Museum and Palazzo Viti met my expectations for historical value. The alabaster shops and craft goods were abundant though and spectacular!

I spent three days in Volterra and thoroughly enjoyed everything (museums, views, good food, and good wine), but due to work obligations, I had to limit the things I could visit. Volterra has so much to offer; I encourage everyone to visit it with respect and admiration.

We had a wonderful time staying at this family run hotel. The hotel is situated about a twenty minute walk below volterra, meaning it is very peaceful with a lovely outlook over hills of Tuscany. The rooms are a good size and well soundproofed. Parking is plentiful and spacious. Finally the breakfast is amazing, the choices were up there with many top end hotels we have stayed in. The home made cakes, required much willpower not to over indulge. We hope to be able to come back some day.
The hotel is a traditional tuscany house. The furniture is a bit old in the rooms in the front, but it has it’ s charm. The pool is very big and the water is clean. The restaurant is good, but the waitress are a bit slow and they forget a lot, but I got over it because I saw they are very young. Instead, the reception stuff is very professional. Mr Silvano made everything he could so we can have a good stay. Thank you!
The house is a typical Tuscan villa in the countryside near Volterra. Our room was nice and quiet. The breakfast is delicious with a variety of homemade cakes and savoury options like eggs and ham. We had dinner one evening and it was really good, probably the best we had on our holiday. The family who runs the agriturismo is very friendly and good chefs
This traditional stone house was lovely & had a cute balcony off the 1st floor. 3 bathrooms were good for our group of 7 & the view from the beautiful pool was exceptional! Volterra was not far away & San Gimignano a little further but worth the drive. We went twice!
The staff was really responsive and kind. Hotel’s location is really good 20-25mins drive from central touristic villages and historic sites. There is a pool where you can cool off while watching amazing Tuscany valley.
