Awesome place to stay in. Well looked after by host and her team during my 4 day stay. Host speaks English and Japanese. Quaint but well located a stones throw from APPI Kogen (4min by car. I have seen people walk too 25min?) several dinning places within walking distance. Had a fantastic breakfast with ingredients that are locally sourced and menu changes daily. Dinner is possible but needs to be arranged with host. Family friendly place and would love to come back again.

The breakfast was some of the best food I has in Japan! The bath was wonderfully relaxing. I loved how quiet it was and my chats with the women who ran the pension.

Mizubasho enjoys a location in Takizawa, 11 miles from Morioka Station and 10 miles from Iwate Prefectural Museum. The bed and breakfast features both Wifi and private parking free of charge.

It’s very convenient if you need to access the Iwate Driver’s License Center! The owners were very nice and the breakfast was delicious. (:

    Great little town.

    Great little town. I didn't see any other foreign tourists while I was there and everyone was very friendly, especially on the hiking trails. Some good outdoor activities available but need a car to get around as they are rather far from the city center.

    The roads to this mountain is breath taking.

    The roads to this mountain is breath taking. I would love to take my bicycle and ride there. The walk from the carpark at the tope of the mountain is very easy. It takes about 20-30 minutes to the peak. There are few walking trails at the top of the mountain. The car park cost 500yen.
