A 14-minute walk from St. Francis Xavier Memorial Church in Hirado, Hirado Kaijyo Hotel provides accommodations with access to an open-air bath.

The view from my room of the bay and Hirado O-Hashi bridge, as well as the castle at night. Outdoor bath same. Retro “Shōwa” vibe.

Staffers are very nice and kind. Services there were plenty, including a big indoor bathhouse and an outside (but secure) bathhouse. Location is excellent, too.

Offering free Wifi, private parking, and a garden, the recently renovated property ゲストハウスのスタジオ51 offers rooms in Sasebo, 22 miles from Huis Ten Bosch and 6.9 miles from Ohashikannonji Temple.

Good location near a convenience store, about a 3 minute walk. A train station is near the property (less than a minute) with hourly trains which can take you to Sasebo city or other neighboring towns however, it is about and 40-50 minute ride to Sasebo. Breakfast is simple some shredded cabbage and an egg. The property owner was friendly and helpful, he hangs out at the property and will usually stay the night if no one books the family guest room.

17 miles from Huis Ten Bosch in Sasebo, 木木木木 KIGI MOKU MOKU features accommodations with access to a sauna. This property offers access to a terrace, free private parking, and free Wifi.

Kigi Moku Moku exceeded my expectations. During me and my family’s one-night stay we were well taken care of from the moment we arrived in Sasebo until the moment we left. The hospitality was an 11/10 and I can’t say enough good things about Yuzu-san and her beautiful home. It was so well-designed and peaceful, and we wished that we could have stayed longer! The breakfast was delicious as well.

Lots of great nature spots, including nice beaches.

Lots of great nature spots, including nice beaches. Many historic sites including a castle and some cool churches. Good food. You can spend a lot of time exploring this island - hiking, fishing, swimming, visiting museums, eating, and more. You'd want a car to get around the island, which I recommend highly, but if you don't have one there is still stuff in the main town to see and do on foot.
